Ok guys, I know this'll dissapoint you, but there are things besides stats.:Q Take a deep breath, then read this carefully.
Dnet's going through a major trasition right now, both on the manpower and computing power front. First of all, there are at least 2 servers going online(I belive there's more, but I'm too lazy to look at the records), and that's one of the reasons why there aren't any stats. While replacing the keymaster is relitively easy(compared to replacing the StatsBox II), it still takes time. Dnet's system is fully redundant, but since it gives logs to the stats, you need(ed) to expect to have short/missing stats for up to several days; it's just one of those things you have to live with.
The other hardware change is the statsbox. For anyone that remembers the Great Stats Outage(Feb. 1999), moving the then relitively simplistic stats system from the machine(an overclocked PMMX 166/200) to the new one took pretty much that whole month. Fast-forward to now, and I think we can expect a similar wait. While from what I've heard, we won't have to go through a long stats outage(don't hold me to that statement please, I don't run Dnet), there will be bugs and delays. However, assuming you don't want to live through that, I'm sure we could coax Dnet into sticking with a somewhat old, historicly shaky machine that takes a good 1/4-1/3 of a day to do stats.
Lastly, I'm sure you obviously know about Dnet's people being hired by UD. I don't need to tell you that they're probably working their butts off for UD right now(which is benefitting us with their gained experience, and the new servers). This however means that Dnet itself has been a little slow. Again, it's just something you have to live with, and wait for things to settle down for the Dnet guys.
In conclusion, all I ask of you guys is to give Dnet some breathing room. For a group of volunteers, we're all getting a great project, a chance at $1000, and a community from Dnet. They aren't perfect, and can be far from that at times; but please, they're human. Now take some more deep breaths, go play UT, and remember that you'll have the stats back soon enough.
