You know what often bugs me? Many of us on this team have computers with more horsepower than those that are used for checking all of the work we do! I would think that either a nice Dual TBird-MP with a U160 SCSI Array and about 2 Gigs of RAM would be good... or maybe design a beowolf cluster and DISTRIBUTE the workload! Hmmmm.... distributed computing, what a concept!

fdiskboy, Try running your own pProxy and pPstats server. It's much easier than switching your whole fleet over to SETI. You can have stats whenever you decide to run them.

And YES, there have been SETI stats outages just as bad as D.net outages.

is it just me or has the change from non-profit, unpaid volunteers to
for profit, paid staff cause the decline in the service from Dnet

in other words do they not care any more since they are getting paid??

FYI: I run my own pproxy, so I could run my own stats. But where's the fun in that? I do this to see my stats out on Dnet. I can already see team stats on Mika's proxy. I want to see how the team (and mini-team) is doing compared to the rest of the world.

Can I do that on my own pproxy?

Grrrrrrrrrrr! This is rediculous. I'm canceling participation if this continues. Whats the excuse this time? For weeks now they haven't reported my true output. It's no wonder AnandfTech isn't in first place. This outfit can't manage the data. And if they can't manage the data, how accurate is it?

Time to look for a more productive use of CPU time. Dnet has taken the fun out of this project.

I wouldn't be angry if they'd told us stats would be down before they did this. Communication at dnet has just gone down the tubes as of late. Considering we're the ones that are doing the work for them, they should be a bit more considerate and let us know about these things ahead of time. :|
