No USB?

I have multiple OS's (2 Win7, 1 Win8.1) and on one of my Win7 OS's it boots up fine but I have no USB access to mouse, keyboard etc. It has been intermittent but now after a number of tries it's locked out. I tried safe mode and it still happens. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The 2 other OS's no problem.

My hunch is that you have a USB driver problem with that one Win 7 drive. A lot depends on how you have physically configured your three OS drives.

Okay, the OS's are on separate partitions. I made an image of the all the partitions a couple of months ago using Macrium. Yesterday, I restored the problem OS using the image I had made. Worked fine and no USB problems. I use this particular OS for all my new software experiments so weird stuff happens frequently.

How do you multiboot your pc? Do you use an application or bios?

Multiboot? Only one OS at a time can be run. Each of the OS drives can be turned on and off. I only turn on one at a time depending on which OS I want. The unit marked XP has now been replaced with Win 10 Preview. This way I don't get involved with sometimes flaky multiboot software. And, when any OS drive is active, the others are not even connected electrically. This arrangement really makes for a fairly secure system. BTW - each OS drive is dup0licated by another on the shelf. I call it planned redundancy.

I like that implementation Corky. I really always hated multi-booting OS's.

I appreciate that implementation for security purposes as well. I have been using multiboot since Win98 & WinXP. When I started playing around with Linux around 1995 I got much more involved with it. Early on there were many issues that could show up. Today with so many recovery disks for both Linux and Windows in the past few years I maybe had two or three problems and each time I was able to restore the bootloader. A Linux Live Cd comes in handy as well.
