Watch this be another one of those...It was all a dream!wrap everything up in the final episode?
I guess they were lucky they only made 6 episodes.

Looks like they're retiring the originals, and injecting replacements - in the event of, a) a successful reboot, and b) Duchovny and Anderson wanting no part in future X-Files.
In the final episode Mulder and Scully will mysteriously disappear, I predict.

Since the demographic for fans of the original show have to be pushing that 18-49 y.o. envelope, the only reason I can see to do this is to bring in people who've never seen the series.Seems the good ratings have prompted then to return the original series into syndication.

The reboot was/is horrible, damn.
And that's the season... Kind of a mess.
Show kind of went overboard on the conspiracy stuff. They essentially took every prepper theory out there and validated every single one, then tried to end the world. I don't remember any of the original X-Files episodes going this far or going to this scale.
The not serious episodes were also too much of a joke.
In summary... the entire season felt like six separate pilot episodes for six different variations of a potential X-Files themed reboot.
Yeah, I tend to agree with this, they tried to make everyone happy, but, it ended up being 6 loosely tied episodes getting to this point where it falls flat.I wasn't very impressed. I think they wanted to please everyone so the 6 episodes went in all different directions. The final episode felt like a Helix episode.
I'd like a reboot with the new duo. To be honest I just want a show like this or Fringe back on the air again.
Then what you want...IS NOT X-FILES.
Last episode was a trainwreck. I went into this season with an open mind. I overlooked the shakey acting because I figured they were rusty. I liked two of the 6 episodes. But it's like no one had any great plan for this series. It was the television equivalent of a compilation album of unreleased songs, or a deleted scenes DVD: material the producers wanted to include at various times but for one reason or another it ended up on the cutting room floor. Just a mishmash of ideas and themes thrown together into one 6 episode EP.
The new series will start with Mulder being resurrected from Carbonite before he and Scully set off on a secret space shuttle to destroy a planet killing alien weapon in orbit around the Earth. Sort of like Men in Black meets Star Wars.Amazing cliffhanger ending of episode 6. :awe:
Now they'll really need to look for their son that they gave up for adoption in order for Mulder to survive, they need his brain stem cells.
And yes that was a huge triangular UFO hovering over a lot of people on the bridge.
