Since CNN is doing the same now.. any suggestions for a news source that still does facts and not propaganda for ratings?

This was a test. A CNN test. Actually, a media test to see if Trump could indeed bring in the ratings during the next 18 months as Trump did back in 2015-16. Remember, this was a "republican town hall", and those attending were "republicans" hand picked by CNN. Think of it as Club 54 for the maga. So, what did we expect? Trump still whining about 2020, Trump still calling opponents names like Ron DeSanctimonious. Nothing new there. Trump did refer to his past enemy Lindsey Graham as "a good guy", and referred to once hated Mike Pence also as a good guy. I figure that Trump figures he will need all the help he can get for 2024, yes even the support of Mike Pence the once hunted like a dog.

Folks....
This is what to expect as the 2024 president campaign gears up. Trump being Trump, the media loving it every minute of it, and all opponents i.e. Joe Biden Ron DeSanctimonious and all the rest ignored by the media and left in the dust. All the media cares about is pushing Donald Trump, the Howard Stern of presidential politics. Millions tune into Howard Stern and millions will vote for Donald Trump. Nothing has changed. The hate for democrats still there with the voters, the hate of Biden still there, the media more than willing to take a big crap on themselves to promote ratings, nothing has changed.

But anyhow, I did watch because I believe in knowing what the other side is up to. You need to know your enemy. Knowledge is power. To be informed and aware is power. Even if the other side makes you sick, still you need to know everything they are up to.

However... I have no claims to be physic nor clairvoyant, but Trump seemed different to me. He seemed to show the stress. Frankly, his health I would question far before Joe Biden's health. Trump may not live long enough to know if he was or was not reelected in 2024. And this makes it that much more important to see who Trump chooses as his running mate. People fear Kamala Harris inheriting the throne, I think it more likely that Trump's VP will inherit the throne after Trump is found dead in his Whitehouse bed a few days after reelected. Remember that new Pope who died before becoming the new Pope?

His people won't be watching those panels. Then again it wouldn't matter anyway.

If Trump supporters caught Donnie with his dick in the butt of a 9 year old girl they would still support him.
Most of them would offer up their childrens' backsides in exchange for a selfie with him.

Yup while they are attempting to attract right leaning viewers, CNN is still an orange monkey bashing channel.

AP, Deutsche Welle and BBC are my faves.

Good choices (esp DW). Don't forget PBS Newshour. I would also add Al Jeezera as third-to a certain extent. Definitely not unbiased, but it exposes you to real issues as opposed to the latest Washington/Hollywood gossip.

Personally I've gone cold turkey on all the talking head networks altogether-they truly are the opiate of the masses, except they all focus on outrage. The local news and picking up clips on Youtube that interest me is enough.

That amounted to a free infomercial for the Trump campaign. He did his usual stuff, no surprise there. Collins was awful, although I'm not entirely sure it was her fault. That format and audience might have doomed her from the start.

And anyone that didn't see that coming is a complete and utter moron.

I don't know how anybody can still pretend that Trump isn't almost certain to win the GOP primary unless he's dead.

I think it would take an unlikely bit of bad fortune for Trump combined with some fancy footwork by the GQP. A bit like a coup, but an internal one this time. Maybe they can do better than they did for 1/6?

I think the idea is that what the GOP voters really like is the depravity and unapologetic hateful rhetoric of Trump. Some think that DeSantis can be just as ugly as Trump, but without all the baggage. That just might let DeSantis win in the Primary due to the simple fact even among GOP primary voters that many know that Trump stands little chance in the general election.

No matter how stupid he sounded, no matter how many lies he said - By allowing a one-sided town hall, CNN footed the bill for a nationally broadcast Trump rally. The moderator was flustered and failed to control her line of questioning. He was pretty much playing her. I hope that she is getting extremely well paid for this. I’m surprised anyone would agree to moderate this gig under the circumstances, or indeed that anyone would agree to it who was not a novice desperate for media exposure. Because it was clearly a no-win proposition. She would either get steamrolled by Trump and his incessant lying and then get insulted on top of that – or she could push back hard, in which case Trump would walk out. That would leave the sponsors very unhappy, which causes management to be very unhappy. Which then causes careers to end. Trump is like a disease that infects everything it touches. She should have known nothing good was going to come out of this.

This is how she should have played Trump

“You’re a very nasty person”

“Okay…you’re a sexual predator. Your turn.”

And watch Trump either retaliate even nastier, or just watch him walk out like the coward he is.

I think ron has zero chances, he has no charisma. If anyone beats trump it’ll be someone we don’t expect.

The only upside is that he’s probably sunk his appeal of the Carroll verdict by insulting/lying/defaming her days after the case, and Fani Willis has to be licking her chops with his statement that the SoS “owed” him votes.

Trump’s demolition of the GOP is the gift that just keeps giving, and he’s not done yet.

I don't know why CNN would give him an interview. Makes no sense
New ownership is a Trump donor.

Its something alright, all the filthy rich right wingers are coming out to take their swing … almost in lockstep. Almost like a coordinated assault.

Well seeing as if the truth and facts are anathema to every person who votes GOP, all Trump did was confirm that being a tried and true liar and scum sucking dirt bag that can run over the truth like a steamroller while spewing insults non-stop is above all the most important thing that any Republican contender for POTUS can offer their voters.

How Collins held her cool is basically a miracle.

I think she did a good job and basically the best that she could. She kept calling him out when he lied. What else do you want her to do? She called him out and he ALWAYS has to get the last word.

What CNN should have done is let her control his mic. He probably wouldn't have agreed to come on in that case though.

I only saw bits and pieces but the scariest thing I saw were the kids in the crowd cheering and clapping as he spewed his lies. Oh and then there was this little panel of NH voters I saw after the townhall they were interviewing, and some of them were actually sensible, but this one redneck dude on there, saying that he will already vote for Trump if he runs in 2024, after the redneck sounded like a lunatic, was also scary.

Not my opinion of that panel. Fine the rest said they weren’t ready to vote for him. But you can bet they won’t vote for a Dem over him.

This was even worse than when "60 Minutes" ran an interview with MTG. What a disgrace.
