What two people are you speaking of? BTW, my moral agency needs to be manifested by voting for people who have proven that they have the needed intellect and presence that I can admire and support. Our system is dumb and I agree it should not be reduced to that, but it is. Don’t deprive yourself of moral agency by picking ‘none of the above’. Choose what’s right.
Obviously this is all counterfactual projections at this point but I think there would have been a ton of confusion and when confused people tend to stick with the status quo. I hope I would have been wrong but I think there's a strong chance that people would have given in and when later it turned out to all be bullshit we would have had a Very Serious Public Debate about how Trump was an illegitimate president and then not done anything.

That's not a really good point, there will never be a way to ensure every immigrant is a good person so seems like a cop out to stop immigration all together even though the vast majority are good people.Trump went for the back of the room with that line, which was both tactical AND true. In order not to seem lecturing and condescending, I suggest you open your mind a bit by reading Ann Coulter's book: "Adios Amigos". My wife was an intelligent lefty and it changed her mind about "immigration". One of her must salient points is that we have our own crop of monsters to deal with, why import more?
