Nocona 32 bit benchmarks? Or is this broken too?

Has anyone posted benchmarks of Nocona in 32 bit mode? I understand the lack of 64 bit benchmarks but where are the 32 bit benchmarks at the least? Or is that broken as well? A side effect of the 915 chipset? This is really a bad product launch.

OK the chip is not broken so the problem is what?

Why are there are no benchmarks and overclocking results in 32 bit? Despite it should be the same as XEON or PRESCOTT NOBODY HAS STATED THIS WITH BENCHMARKS? WHAT GIVES?

I thought it was a prescott with 64bit instructions working? Not Xeon.

I am very dissapointed in Intel because this has to be the worst product launch ever on what should be considered a huge product launch.

Can someone Wake up the media this is INTEL's first x86-64bit cpu that is 32 bit capable but there is no benchmarks for either 32 or 64bit?

If I still held my Intel stock I would be wanting some answers to what is up with that?

here is another thing. WHERE ARE ALL THE IN DEPTH ARTICLES of the processor and its capabilities?

Whenever anyone releases a video card chip everyone analyzes the information and draws speculation to what can be expected or seen in the new chip when the time comes. NOTHING.

For god sakes this is Intel and no one is asking questions? Boy are the investors lambs led to slaughter.

for being an "inside" person signing nda's left and right you missed one thing i think. intel has never liked giving xeons to people to review, ever! Some sites get a hold of them, but they are few and far between. It is very rare that you see a major site with a xeon review, however they do happen.

32-bit performace should be in line with it's cousin the prescott.

btw investors always are following new trends. They are speculators and they hope the next thing will be big and they will make money. period. They could care less how well xeon performs as long as intel sells them by the truckload.

You are also probably expecting great coverage of xeon because of the opteron. I don't think it is going to work that way, but ohh well.

For now we find out that finally today intel started shipping 3.6 ghz p4's.

One final point is that intel really REALLY doesn't want to do 64 bit desktop computing. ( i do realize that xeons are meant for servers but if you really want 64 bit and have to have intel and you own a desktop then your choice is to go that route. It can be a desktop/workstation processor) They will hold it up as much as possible for now.

I have purchasing power input on the server side. I called my local rep (Compaq/HP) for a test system but they have no planned date when/if one will be available. Understandable but unaccepable that there are no sites reviewing the CPU.

This tells me Intel's 64bit x86 cpu a very poor performance CPU and that any benchmarks posted will cause Opteron sales increases for servers. Clearly showing the Opteron is significanly better CPU than the Intel offering. That the message I am getting from this lack of information.

quit your wineing its going to be a very pricey chip with little to no peformance gains over the prescott based xeon. and even if thier 64bit turned out ok I highly doubt it will outperfrom an opteron dollar for dollar

And why would YOU of all people get a "test" system from hp. Hp has opteron. They could care less about xeon. Nocona is for Dell, it was dell that twisted intel's arm. Period. Why don't you call your friendly dell rep and get a box from them?

Were not a dell house and I would like to compare it to a Opteron DL585 from Compaq/HP. Would give me more power in buying the opterons over intel based servers. You know the generalized rule that mangers are stupid people. so if intel makes a 64bit x86 cpu it must be the best. Cough Cough.
You know those same people still think Intel makes a superior CPU than AMD despite benchmarks and other criteria. So those same idiots would buy a Intel CPU more than an AMD depite the free upgrade to 64 bit. The saving money part doesnt make sense to them when they can get giants tickets for themselves. Plus mangers get to keep their positions because they never let the technical staff talk to the higher ups. This covers up thier stupid poor decisions mangers make and allows them to blame the technical staff for thier poor product selection when they get yankee tickets to close a deal when buying a product instead of buying the superior product.

Talking servers guys before someone says I am attacking Intel. Which I am because this paper launch crap that investors never question. Because they are the biggest doesnt mean they are the best.

Look at IBM (I Blame Microsoft) They are the biggest. Surely not the best. Dont tell them that unless you want to hear how great they think they are. Well they are great at bilking companies out of large amounts of money with shoddy service. Still I blame idiot managers who think they can solve the problem with a service contract. I have a saying those who can manage manage and those who cannot get IBM or outsource. So if there are any VP's out there you can easily eliminate the idiots in your company. Just fire anyone ones who think IBM is a solution that will save money.
