Question Noctua DH15 and 5800X , PC refuses to boot once in a while

I have a PC which is using a Noctua DH15 fan with a 5800X. I have an 850W SMPS and an MSI Tomahawk motherboard. I am not sure if my CPU is faulty. I did manage to get some thermal paste between the pins once. ( have cleaned it with alcohol since then) Occasionally my PC refuses to boot and the motherboard posts an error. The CPU LED lights up. Is there a lot of pressure on the CPU because of the cooler's weight? Has anyone else faced a similar problem?

Almost all thermal paste dielectric. I have Dark Rock CPU fan and use it without problems. Check all connectors and try to set defaults on bios with pin connector

CPU fault

Reseat the CPU again. Make certain the lever is fully down too. I have seen a good number of reports of the reseat fixing this and similar issues. For what it's worth; I have a DH15 and have had zero trouble using it with AM4.

cpu fault points to cpu.

pull the cpu out, inspect the pins on the cpu to make sure you didn't crush or bend one.
after inspecting, look carefully at the socket to make sure there is nothing stuck in one of the pin slots, like a broken pin again.
Finally after you checked everything, reset the cpu and try it again.

Also cpu fault can be from memory, so id reseat the memory as well just for safe measure to rule that out.

Finally if your running any nvme, i would pull those out for the first boot, and see if you have any problems going into bios.
Since the 5800X has no IGP, you need to have your GPU connected, so i would pull anything off your pci-e express lanes which are not required, and try a bios boot.

If everything goes well, you can then put stuff back in and try to reboot the system again, and see if everything works.
