I've been looking for a new phone and the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition caught my eye. After looking into it, I found some conflicting specs regarding the 3G bands.
From Amazon:
WCDMA 900/1900, Quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900
From Newegg:
UMTS 850/1900, Quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900
From Nokia:
# WCDMA 900/2100
# GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
# WCDMA 850/1900 (Latin America and Brazil variant only)
I am on the AT&T network (contract isn't up until Sept. 2010) and I don't want to even consider this if the 3G band is 900/1900. I read AT&T is moving their 3G band down to 850, which would put me out if I bought this phone and it turns out to only be 900/1900. Granted I don't know the time frame AT&T is going to move the 3G band, but it's not something I want to have to worry about.
Anyways, does anyone have (or know someone that has) the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition on the AT&T network? Do you (they) get 3G speeds? Which bands are listed in the user's manual?
I did compare this to the XpressMusic version, and according to the Nokia website, the XpressMusic uses 850/1900 (not 900/1900).
-Thanks
