I literally bought so much stuff from VA.com at half price or much less with rebates last Christmas and earlier this year, it still stuns me when I think about it. As I look around this room, most of the items visable and inside my computer case were obtained through VA.com. God I will miss them and the fact that I still had 170 value dollars left over when they shut the doors and a refund pending. Should have used them on the golden ships!!

It was a special time. Thank you Santa for last years Nasdaq idiots! If only I had been smart enough to short the VUSA stock at $12.00 when they started the Value Dollar promotions. Live and learn.

Oops! I forgot a good one. Thank you to Greenpoints.com for giving me a continual monthly replenishment of 28,000 greenpoints for no reason. I was able to receive $320.00 worth of Burger King gift certificates during the year and my kids certainly appreciate it. LOL

EDIT: Oh my, how did I forget Pointclick. $1,350 for clicking on web sites. What a great business plan!!! I can't believe they actually cut a check. Sure, it took a little work, but I was stunned when the actual check arrived and cleared my account.

I'm amazed their doors are still open. I hope the next year brings us some treats to rival these. But I get the feeling last year and early this year were a fluke.

This really brings back the memories of all the late, late nights chasing these deals and putting up with the "In before the lock", "IBTL", "Thank you for your off-topic post",email domain bans and other events.

No wonder I'm addicted.

Good luck.

The free HP930C from the e-Stamp promotion has been mentioned by several persons.I took advantage of that deal as well -- but I already had four Lexmark Z11 printers I snagged from here (all four for free or only for shipping on two of them) so the HP was nice but not much needed. The best for me was the Accompany deal on the Nikon CoolPix 950 which I got for $508 and then got a $100 rebate from Nikon bringing the price down to $408. With the rebate check Nikon included a rebate certificate good for for $30 on the purchase of a Lexar 64Meg CompactFlash memory card for the camera -- which I also hot dealt from this forum. As I figure it, I got the Nikon 950 for $378 -- about as good as you can hope for, and unlike the HP930C, I needed the camera. Everyone I know got in on the 20 Imation CD-R's from Outpost for free with Outpost paying for AirExpress shipping even. At about this time last year AllBooks4Less appeared in this forum and my friends and I got 22 volumes of computer books -- over four feet of books on my shelf -- for shipping only. There were other deals, but these are the ones that come to mind as the best.

PS I'd forgotten the 155% price match on the CrossPad at Office Depot that resulted in the Pad being free after the $150 rebate from Cross. I bought two and sold them without even opening the boxes so I ended up being paid $250 to take two of them off of OD's hands.

The printer from e-stamp was definitely the bomb! I also particularly enjoyed the Flat panel monitor from the Office Max fiasco and the recent msn passport deal. Almost forgot the 2 free tivo's I won and sold. Too many hot deals to mention. My house is a virtual office and all my friends wonder how i can afford this stuff.

Being a poor college student I have to pass up on most of the deals here so I usually end up sticking with the free t-shirts and mouse pads

Of the few I did go for my personal best was my 21" Mitsu monitor for $116 shipped!!
(No you didn't miss this deal, it was a fluke )

I also can't wait to use those ski googles I got for $2 shipped...Killington here I come.

Great thread (glad it hasn't been locked)!

1) $400 MSN CA/OR Deal Fiasco (Hands down; it *doesn't* get any better than this one!)
2) $299 LCD Monitor @ OfficeMax
3) $50 Nomad II @ eMusic
4) $229 AST Century City Pentium III 500 Mhz Computer @ Circuit City
5) $435 Dell Pentium III 800 Mhz Computer w/3 Year Onsite & Free 64 Meg Upgrade (and I got free shipping on top of that!)

I think the best deal of the year was the casino deal a few months back with $1000 deposit +$500 BOUNS.......my roommate actually got $700 from them after he played or an hour.......too bad i didn't have $1000 to spare at the time....or else i would be happy too.

I must say the best deal was the MSN fiasco with Best Buy. I took advantage of this offer 4 times and got away with 1600 dollars of free equipment from Best Buy and Office Depot.

No doubt that it was the free MSN $400 at BestBuy. The store I went to let me get the gift cards we my little group walked out with $1600 worth of gift cards. Just cashed in $800 worth to get a superduper top of the line stainless steel fridge this weekend. Was 10% off and free delivery.

MSRP: $2000
-10%: $-200
-$800 MSN: $-800
$100 energy star rebate: $-100
2% CC cash back: $-18
TAX $+150
---------
~$1030

Stainless steel looks soooo nice. I owe you one Bill G...

This is a fun thread... Mine would have to be the $50 Nomad player,
the $129 HP C200 Digital Camera, thanks to an OD catalog pricing error
and finally, (although I haven't received it yet), The Sony 30 hour
TIVO, I won in the contest.

Oh man, I almost forgot about those mobshop digital camera coupons! I remember getting a coolpix 800 for less than $360, which is still a steal today.

I remember hearing about that $400 MSN deal in the spring, was that just in CA?

Oh yeah, just wanted to give a loud shout to all deal hunters who've posted here at AT (even some jr. members) and made me a richer (or poorer?) man.

Peace!

I'd have to say the hottest deals have been these last few monitor ones. Buy.com screwed up on the 21" Viewsonics, game me $30 off my next order. So I replaced it with the 19" Compaq from mercata for $145.. essentialy 19" monitor for $115 weeee

Also my $99 IOpener, which is a great modded machine sitting in my room.

Also have to love that free visual studio 6 package microsoft sent me for being chosen for Teen Tech Fest Hello eb@y

This year I dont think it was one killer deal. Combination promotions were popular this year. The Discounts were not just handed over to you, you had to search em out.
