I got an IBM laptop, spare battery, case, NIC for clicking my ass off at pointclick. It was worth over $600. No wonder pointclick went under. Ahh the good old days.

he MSN 400 instant rebate.
I found out about the rebate at 6pm on Tuesday night. I ran over to bestbuy in West LA as soon as possible. The line was around the store twice! Checked again locally for other bestbuys. Same situation. Long lines and out of stock items.Wait time was 3 hours! Quick acting, I looked at the mercury news article again. Office Depot was also offering instant rebate. Time is now 8:45pm and stores are closing. Went to Compton Office Depot but it closed at 8pm. Time is running out. Now we have to find a place where it is still open and offers instant rebates with products still on the shelf and no lines. Found a remote Office Depot in West LA. 15minutes before closing I snatched a Emachine Pentinum 500 w/DVD 64MB of RAM for 400. Later I heard on the phone, that the will end that night. Weeew hop on the deal with 2 minutes to spare.

The MSN and 800.com Deal
Jumped on the 32 WEGA Deal ASAP but didn't get the ebates discount or the $50 GC from 800.com. TV arrived broken. Got the CSR to apply the same discounts + the ones I missed to any TV. Now they have in stock the the RCA Hi-Res DTV 36". Although it isn't as flat it is useable as a GIANT monitor. Combined all the deals to get a whopping 51% off retail price. A better bargain and TV than the WEGA.

MCI/AT&T/Amazon Deal
Free $250 worth of stuff. A real treat for christmas.

MY kid gets banned from anand tech today for 1 post about exchanging an unopened DVD to a different store and this huge post is full of braging about......

"not so legal" - visitalk/amazon GC's (got over $1500 for around 6 hours work), multiple bestbuy.com $20 "new customer" credits, multiple $100 supercertificates from some place i no longer remember, sparks.com $10 cdnow gift card with every "new customer" pruchase (including 89 cent greeting cards), and many more which i cannot talk about"

1 - multiple MCI "business" phone deals for $150 promo and then open discussions about how to combine 2 amazon.com promo codes.
2 - basically "stealing" $400 from microsoft because of a legal snafu
3 - stealing $50 from buy.com using coupons stating "50 off 500" but mistakenly gave customers 50 off 50
4 - multiple test drives for cars
5 - multiple mispriced items" "The missprice at Cameraworld.com on the JVC GC-QX3u Digital camera , 3.3 Megapixel for $303. Hehe, I bought 5 and sold them for $475-$520 on fEbay"

6 - taking advantage of stores..." Best Buy had the printer on sale for $79.99 before a $50.00 rebate bring the total down to $29.99. I went to Best Buy and they were out of them so I got a raincheck for 2 of them but the sales person screw'd up and wrote the raincheck for $29.99. I was called a few days later to pick it up and of course I got some trouble at the register but I argued that the price on the raincheck is what I should have to pay. They called over the manager, some 19 year old, and he said that they would sell it to me but would have to throw out the rebate. Of couse I agreed. Got home and sold one to a friend, printed the rebate off the Canon website and each of us ended up making $19.99."

7 - "Staples coupon stacking deal"

8 - Oops! I forgot a good one. Thank you to Greenpoints.com for giving me a continual monthly replenishment of 28,000 greenpoints for no reason. I was able to receive $320.00 worth of Burger King gift certificates during the year and my kids certainly appreciate it. LOL

9 - I did the deal you're talking about, but I did it one better. The receipt from JCPenny listed the two games that came with it at full price, so I returned the two games and got about $80.00 back. Net deal was that I was paid to take a Dreamcast

reply..."Damn!!! nice call.... I actually tried to take them to Best Buy to see if they would take em"

10 - It may not be the most marked down dollar-wise, but after pricematching it a few times (hehe), I got 10 for about $8 apiece. They retailed for something like $40 or $50. I exchanged them for my WD Expert 20.5 (I think $149 at the time retail, maybe $199) that I got for NEGATIVE $5 ($30 rebate)

and yes.........his mother does know exactly what he is doing ! And, I can assure you his morals and ethics are doing just fine: thank you very much. However; were you to release any private information you have obtained from him I think you would be very regretful.

I would have to say the E-Stamp printer deal, even more after the post earlier today about being able to cash in the electronic vaults. Another reason I say the E-Stamp printer deal is that so many people were able to do it. Otherwise I would say the $400 MSN in Calif or the flat panel Office Depot (or Office Max, I get them mixed up).

Did everyone forget the big glitch at buy.com? They had a $50 off $500 coupon and it actually was $50 off $50 for as many orders you wanted. Well that was one heck of a glitch and they actually shipped like close to 10,000 $50 orders for free!
One thing is sure THEY WON'T have this glitch again

Anyone remember pointclick? back when they were still paying?
My wife and kids racked it up on there.
I got my Kodak DC290 camera for about 175.00 after PC discounts. That was a wonderful deal

Nothing beats the free printer with estamp/buy.com, maybe except the free TiVo promotion thingee...spent 15 minutes or so writing an "essay" and got a free TiVo, which of course ended up in the home of others that needed it more. That was the easiest 180 bucks ever in my life...$180/15 min = $720/hr. =)

Got to join the fun. Although it started about a year ago, this continued into January 2000. Macromedia Dreamweaver2/Fireworks2 Suite with free full upgrade to Dreamweaver3/Fireworks3. This was a clearance item at Office Max for $5.00, then dropped to $2.00. Sweet!!
