MY kid gets banned from anand tech today for 1 post about exchanging an unopened DVD to a different store and this huge post is full of braging about......
"not so legal" - visitalk/amazon GC's (got over $1500 for around 6 hours work), multiple bestbuy.com $20 "new customer" credits, multiple $100 supercertificates from some place i no longer remember, sparks.com $10 cdnow gift card with every "new customer" pruchase (including 89 cent greeting cards), and many more which i cannot talk about"
1 - multiple MCI "business" phone deals for $150 promo and then open discussions about how to combine 2 amazon.com promo codes.
2 - basically "stealing" $400 from microsoft because of a legal snafu
3 - stealing $50 from buy.com using coupons stating "50 off 500" but mistakenly gave customers 50 off 50
4 - multiple test drives for cars
5 - multiple mispriced items" "The missprice at Cameraworld.com on the JVC GC-QX3u Digital camera , 3.3 Megapixel for $303. Hehe, I bought 5 and sold them for $475-$520 on fEbay"
6 - taking advantage of stores..." Best Buy had the printer on sale for $79.99 before a $50.00 rebate bring the total down to $29.99. I went to Best Buy and they were out of them so I got a raincheck for 2 of them but the sales person screw'd up and wrote the raincheck for $29.99. I was called a few days later to pick it up and of course I got some trouble at the register but I argued that the price on the raincheck is what I should have to pay. They called over the manager, some 19 year old, and he said that they would sell it to me but would have to throw out the rebate. Of couse I agreed. Got home and sold one to a friend, printed the rebate off the Canon website and each of us ended up making $19.99."
7 - "Staples coupon stacking deal"
8 - Oops! I forgot a good one. Thank you to Greenpoints.com for giving me a continual monthly replenishment of 28,000 greenpoints for no reason. I was able to receive $320.00 worth of Burger King gift certificates during the year and my kids certainly appreciate it. LOL
9 - I did the deal you're talking about, but I did it one better. The receipt from JCPenny listed the two games that came with it at full price, so I returned the two games and got about $80.00 back. Net deal was that I was paid to take a Dreamcast
reply..."Damn!!! nice call.... I actually tried to take them to Best Buy to see if they would take em"
10 - It may not be the most marked down dollar-wise, but after pricematching it a few times (hehe), I got 10 for about $8 apiece. They retailed for something like $40 or $50. I exchanged them for my WD Expert 20.5 (I think $149 at the time retail, maybe $199) that I got for NEGATIVE $5 ($30 rebate)
and yes.........his mother does know exactly what he is doing ! And, I can assure you his morals and ethics are doing just fine: thank you very much. However; were you to release any private information you have obtained from him I think you would be very regretful.
