Ghost is a disk imaging tool. It makes an image of the disk's contents and allows you to only restore the entire contents of that disk, to my knowledge. I've not played much with the Windows software, but have used their boot CD a lot. Looking at the features of Ghost 10.0 on their website, it is just the basic backup & restore. Acronis TrueImage is so much more. There is a fundamental difference in how the two products copy the hard drives; to my knowledge, Acronis makes a true sector-by-sector copy of the drive. Ghost does not, but I honestly can't remember how Ghost does it. Either way, I've heard a lot of horror stories about Ghost backups not working right. Also, Ghost prompts you to defragment usually; this has to do with how Ghost records your disk's data and isn't an issue with Acronis since it copies every sectory individually. Acronis just offers a ton of other features with it, but I'd look at their site for a clear breakdown:
