Check out this Link.
From the makers of Evil Kyro- the Evil King 4.
I wonder if it costs any less than a V4, even with the TV out option... Wonder how long it'll be before we see a clone V5.
Hope the quality is as good... don't want 2D issues like the various nVidia clones.

No they aren't. They sneak into our warehouse from time to time and steal batches of chips and use them to put boards out on the market.

I suppose they are allowed (unless they are very stupid). THis is maybe the beginning of non 3dfx/STB vidcard with 3dfx chips.

Didn't 3dfx just recently quit the board manufacturing business, to go back to the old business model of making and selling chips? This might be the first product under their new biz model.

probably just an international markets thing. that would be a gray market product if ever it showed in the US.

Most likely. They were normal Voodoo5's. The box and everything was identical to the U.S. retail version, but instead it was "Made in China" (that was stamped on the board).

WTF??? Clone 3dfx makers? When did this start?

I hope they're not going to turn 3dfx's boards into nVidia type boards (cut corners in every way to turn a profit). I stuck with 3dfx for a reason.

BTW, that box sucks! 3dfx's looks much better.

Well, it sure seems like the oriental folks like those cartoon girls with the big eyes and weird coloured hair. (Wonder if they ever force their wives to dye their hair?)
Just like it would appear north-americans like (ugh) Laura Croft with her 2-inch waist, ample chest, snarl and huge lips.
How about a human instead of an impossibility?

Er.. yes... the card... *ahem*. I wonder what agreement they may have had, and if we will see others. It IS nice to see them adding TV out (imagine a 5500 VIVO...) and other features. On the other hand, I'd almost prefer them to stick to ONE reference design so we don't have people dropping 2cent transistors in order to cut costs, even if it results in fuzzy text at 1024 and above. *cough*

Uh yeah, "honey dye your hair purple or else", okay. No acually they dye their hair that way of their on volition.

Ugh, I personally hate the way Laura Croft looks, her, that 'person' who dresses up like her and acts like her, and Raven (the spokes 'woman' for the X-Box (or XBox or X Box, or whatever the heck they're calling it))

Uh, video out a V5, uh, yeah, nice. I just hope the video quality isn't crap.

powercolor is the only compnay i've seen that has cloned 3dfx cards, they had voodoo3s also (they had a 3500 class card but without all the tv stuff) the bad thing is that the tv out might not be supported in the 3dfx reference drivers.

I believe that powercolor and a couple of other companies have been making voodoo3 clones since 3dfx bought STB, basicly this is so that they could sell 3dfx branded cards in North America, but instead of tring to make enough for europe they just had other companies make them for sale in europe. I don't remember where I read this, but when I did I actually saw descriptions of those cards. We probably won't see widespread 'clones' of 3dfx chips until the rampage, though there may be a vendor of two that picks up these european cards... who knows.
