guys... do you know any RPGs which are not "sword & sorcery" or medieval style? After NWN and Morrowind, I'm pretty bored of such things.
currently I'm playing SW:KOTOR (damn addictive!). any other recommendations? if not, I think I'm gonna play Fallout again....

i was gonna say Fallout 1 and 2 when i read the thread title.

also check out Septerra Core, which came out some years ago and was decent, i heard.

and there's that one sci-fi rpg whose name annoyingly escapes me.

it was a 2CD game that played like FF7. Had Quake2-quality graphics.

Damn, what was the name of that game???

Fallout 1 -2, on many "Best RPG" and "Hall of Fame" lists.

Jagged Alliance 2 - actually a squad-level, turn-based strategy game, but it's very much like a RPG: the mercenaries you control have skills that improve with practice, and equipment / inventory that you manage and upgrade. Plus a story / goal that's at least as good as Icewind Dale's.

GuybrushThreepwood I'm guessing you mean Anachronix, which I haven't played.

Absolutely awesome game. The best $10 I ever spent. Plays like a console RPG, with great graphics ( considering it's a Quake2 based game ). Hilarious (especially some of the mini-games), with an excellent plot. The developers released an unofficial patch which fixes most of the issues.

I'm going to vote for SW: KotOR too. It's a great game that takes a while to play through. And there is considerable replay value with the game.

buggy and ugly, but the story is awesome. that is the selling point of the game in my opinion. parts can be really pretty. really really interesting.

Some of the developers spent a year of their personal time to put together an unoffcial patch ( unofficial build 45 ) - once that was installed, I didn't have any problems with the game. Granted, before said patch was installed, the game was buggy as hell.

Not sure, but Outcast or Nomad Soul are other options.
Both are budget titles, I should have a copy of Nomad Soul arriving sometime this week to try out.

I heard Harbinger was a bad diablo clone. Gamespot gave a bad review to it but i suppose you'd have to check it out for yourself.

Try Arcanum. It's steampunk so it does have fantasy elements, but you can play as a techie if you want.

System Shock 2 is a must-play if you like FPS/RPG hybrids like Deus Ex.
