I fully intend on getting the updated vaccination, trying to time it so the updated version gets me thru the holidays (I totally know this is like market timing and I shouldn’t do it so don’t lecture me)

Same here. Husband and I are driving 2000 mi round trip for Thanksgiving with family and about the same in another direction for Christmas and I want max booster coverage for both trips.

Yeah I’m thinking early to mid November is the right time.

Per my MD I'll be getting the updated booster when I can confirm it's available near me.... but I would have done so anyway.

I haven't kept up on the recommendations. Are people without comorbidities supposed to get a second booster yet?

I can only speak for myself but I have several health-issues which technically put me at "increased-risk" from Covid and per my MD's advice I'll be getting the updated booster asap.

"CDC has recommended bivalent formulations of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for use as a single booster dose at least two months following primary or booster vaccination."

No restriction of the booster to only those with comorbidities.

Booked my bivalent vaccination for tomorrow! I chose Moderna. I haven't been eligible for a vaccination in the last 10 months (too young), so I'm really looking forward to this one.

Nice. I didn't think about it, but I guess when the vaccines became fully authorized for adults, that likely removed any restrictions. I'll have to look into getting one.

If I recall, the guidance related to immunocompromised or at some substantial risk due to another pre-existing condition was more around getting a 2nd 'original' booster.

Not aware of ever having had covid symptoms (I've also never been tested).

I am getting my 5th Moderna Covid-19 shot (i.e. the Bivalent booster) in two days, Sept. 9. Figuring 2 months good immunity I wonder how protected I'll be come Thanksgiving.

Definitely getting that bivalent good good as soon as I can. Going to treat it like my annual flu shot going forward. Anyone that views it in any other way/as controversial is on the spectrum.

I'm still debating on when to get the bivalent. My daughter just got over a bout of the vid and oddly, the wife and I never got it (I tested a few times while my daughter had it and after she tested negative again) nor did we ever have symptoms. I'm thinking of holding off until November so it would last through December and Jan.

I'm still running on my Delta booster I received late last year. I am not allowed to get any other vaccine if I want to remain in the trial. So far I do not believe I have caught the rona despite my kids having it multiple times.

Moderna bivalent vaccination side-effect update: Sore arm despite exercising it. Slept lightly last night. Slightly sleepy today.

All clear otherwise.
Thanks for posting an update. I was hoping you would post this morning. I see my doc today and was trying to decide if I want to try the new vaccine if they had it available.

I should make my report in a couple days.

I heard (TV news?) that it is thought the bivalent boosters may convey longer immunity than former ones. Anyone know anything about this?

Edit: Well, some info here but maybe no answer to my question:

AND...

There are as of yet no human studies on the efficacy of the new bivalent vaccine at preventing reinfections and providing long-term immune protection.

I haven't yet heard anything about length of immunity. The concept is to make the immunity more broad based. Then hopefully, that keeps you better protected against existing and future mutations.

I'm dual posting in two threads, here is my more lengthy response: http://www.portvapes.co.uk/?id=Latest-exam-1Z0-876-Dumps&exid=threads/have-you-gotten-your-covid-vaccine-thread.2589257/post-40840132

Got a Moderna bivalent booster this evening alongside my annual flu shot. I guess I'll report back if anything comes up - I'm sure it'll be pretty standard vaccination side effects.

Honestly, transmission can be kind of weird at times. In January, my wife and I had covid, acquired in the UK, but my MIL never came down with it, who isolated with us when we got back because she was watching our dog. And when I got covid again in May, my wife never got it.

I ended up being quite sleepy 24 hours after the vaccine. Napped for 3 hours and now feel normal.

My wife had mild to moderate symptoms about 20 hours after the vaccine: chills, general malaise, GI pain, and sleepiness. She feels better now 1.5 days afterwards.

Thank you very much for reporting back. Good to hear you both only had mild symptoms. It's interesting how it affects some people more than others. It was also interesting how the original Moderna dose seemed to cause more symptoms than Pfizer.

I saw my Doc yesterday but they haven't received the bivalent shots yet. She said check back towards the end of the month.

I'm at about the 15 hour mark from vaccination. Overall, feel fine. Mild headache, sore arm (got both flu and COVID in the same arm), and maybe a little fatigued.

My wife, who only got the booster, had fever like symptoms last night and is just generally feeling bleh. She had a similar reaction to the first booster (but not to the initial Pfizer series).

Meanwhile, for me, the J&J shot was miserable and the first booster was fine.
