nOOb building gaming comp

So, i have been playing WOW on this laptop now for 2 months, and I hate it. I am wanting to build a gaming computer for around $600-$700, and am completely lost on newegg. I would like to play on my TV, a 42" Vizio, but do not know if that is a feasible option. Could someone possibly link me a build within that price range, or at least guide me in a direction? Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm taking it that's a 1080p Lcd, meaning 1920x1080 resolution. Reasonably high which will require beefy gpu power. GTS250 will do that well enough in all but the most demanding titles such as crysis. It's kinda on the line between getten'r'done and not though, if you could invest a tad more here it would pay off. I'd also seriously suggest not buying the sound card, instead getting the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P motherboard ($30 more) and using the onboard sound it has. Save $30 and nobody including you will notice the sound difference, but your overclocking potential and motherboard quality rise substantially. "Ferrari Performance at a Mustang Price" Rest of the parts look good to me.

the speakers are also junky and a mismatch so forget that as well.

lol I was just recommending cheap budget speakers and sound card. If he had more money I woudl have said to get a Logitec Z5500 580 watt system a dn X-FI Extreme Gamer.

FWIW, the onboard sound card on most boards Ive used or heard including mine, is shit compared to a quality sound card, not as good adjustability IMO, aint nothing like having a dedicated sound card :thumbsup:

Or just get a good set of head phones OP, like the Creative Fatal1ty or similar. and use the onboard.

Denithor's build is solid. I'm not sold on OCZ PSU's, but if that one has good reviews, go for it.

(And by good reviews, I mean reviews from the few sites that know what they're talking about when it comes to power supplies.)

Stay away from the MODXtream OCZ p/s, their modular ones. The cables are too short to route around the back of the case or otherwise. A cpu power cable had to stretch from bottom of case, overtop of ati 4850, to above processor socket, just barely made it, and was pushing down on the videocard. What would it of cost for a few extra inches of wire? That was in a CM 690 case.
