Totally forgot linking to other deal sites not allowed.

To anyone who missed this deal, recertified Nook HD+'s go on sale often on ebay for around the same price.

Also, for the people who are wondering about BF pricing. It is possible HD+ will go OOS by BF. It happened with Samsung 830 sales last year, the 256GB 830 price kept dropping in September and October, some people said wait out till black friday, but come November most places went out of stock and prices soared. I snagged a couple but those who decided to wait got left out. There have been conflicting reports about B&N stopping nook production, if that is true, then there might not be any HD+ left by black friday/christmas at these prices.

If any of you guys picked one of these up, and are looking for a good deal on a micro-SDHC memory card, check Newegg. They put an Adata 32GB class 10 card on sale today, $29.99, with a $2 off code (EMCXLXR89, but you might have to be signed up for the e-mails in order to use it), and a $10 mail in rebate. Total after code & rebate, $17.99.

No reviews on it yet, but I've never had a problem with Adata products in the past, so have high hopes for this one.

It's recommended to use class 4 cards on the Nook HDs due to a flaky SD card hardware implementation. Not saying class 10s won't work because some have had success, but the consensus that I read from some of the folks working on the mods is that you'll get more reliability with no loss in speed from the 4s. One that is specifically recommended is the SanDisk and that's the one I use - even with that card every once in a while it won't boot CWM recovery from it.

Just bought one of the 32GB HD+ on ebay from a charity auction selling a bunch of refurbs, says includes 1 year warranty, but wasn't 100% clear about it, just USA. $134.49 shipped from MD no tax for me in Calif.

hmm...i have a 32 gb class 10 sandisk card i got last year that I was going to use in a security camera system but ended up returning the system. I guess I'll try it with the nook and see what happens.

If you buy direct from b&n for $34 you can get two years against damage. This is for my 10 year old so we will see.

SquareTrade adds two to the one year for a bit less I think. Hard to guess what B&N will be doing Nookwise in two years.

It's doubtful B&N will be dead in 2 years. I had an issue once in the beginning with SquareTrade. They may be good now.

I agree with third-party warranties though.

For $34 with a device that cost $149 not a big deal. The kid's mom wanted the insurance more than me.

Great news for Nook owners/potential owners:

http://www.cyanogenmod.org/blog/cyanogenmod-10-1-3-rc2

We're included in the latest RC for Cyanogenmod 10.1
nice, I wonder how long until CM10.2 RCs arrive.

Purchase new with (most) Gold MC or Visa cards, or a Discover Card and the CC company covers the 2nd year for free. It's an insurance claim and personally I've never had to use it, but it's another good reason not to buy an extended warranty.

Realistically the NOOK HD+ doesn't cost that much and the SoC will be pretty much 'obsolete' after 24 months anyway.

You still legally owe the tax on your income tax return.

Be sure to remind me next April, sometimes I worry I might forget.

My concern isn't whether or not B&N will be around, but that anybody there remembers what a Nook was in two years.

Just informing you.

Whether to cheat on your taxes is something you decide, not something I remind you.

No, you did remind him twice.

You're threadcrapping. Stick to the deal. It is not your duty to tell people on this forum to pay their taxes.

That's very good.... wiping one of the HD+'s and putting 10.1 or 10.2 on it is great, gives you the full android experience for a very low price.

Do NOT put 10.2 on it - I did and it stopped working - just boots and dies. At least there is an SD card, so you can always reboot from that and recover, but it's still a long process. I really have a love/hate relationship with this thing....

As one of the 47% I feel its wrong for the government not to the one giving me things.

The Nook has a calendar function, so maybe I could put a reminder in it since you seem unwilling to help me on the critical issue.

Alright. Knock it off everyone. He's been warned

I really love my Nook HD+.. got it for $150 during the sell-off. Currently running CM10.2 and I've had zero issues EXCEPT for the lack of tableui (NBD). The one thing I really like is the screen quality - ereading and watching movies is great!

Rooting and installing CM10.2 was very simple. Really, the most "difficult" part is to get the bootloader and CWM installed. After that - you flash like any other android device

I'm running 0904 CM10.2 on my 16GB HD+ and it's not working very well for me. The browsers are always crashing, and there're weird hangups when opening a link in a new tab - often times the progress bar will get stuck at 10% for about a minute before continuing to load, sometimes it helps to close the "stuck" tab and open the link again, but not always. It also looks like system-wide adblock plus kills the whole internet connection... I've disabled adblock for now. I think I'll give another nightly a try, who knows, maybe I got a bad flash or something, but if it stays like that I'll go back to CM10.1 until 10.2 matures.

I was able to revert back to the 10.1 RC3 build and everything works again, except Google play won't connect, which is annoying. All other Apps connect just fine (I'm typing this from the Nook). I'm getting a bit tired of the bugs in CM. I know I shouldn't complain about a free OS, but I just want something that's stable and not laggy, and haven't gotten that so far.

Doesn't 10.1 use a different GAPPs than 10.2? You might have to re-flash the 10.1version??

can I hook this up to my tv?

The B&N site says: 30 Pin Port for charging and connecting to a computer (HDMI Compatible)*

Does HDMI compatible mean I can hook it to my tv?

Yes, you can, but you will need a special cable.

Yep, it's too much at $40 most everywhere. Every once in a while one shows up on fleabay for $25 or so.
