Hi,
In alignement with the previous breaches, I wanted to share what look likes a hack on my Windows 10 VPN app, ver 6.28.13.0. I've read the previous messages and found nothing explaining what happened...
So, on my Windows 10 PC, the NordVPN app is launched during the startup and asks for the password, set at blank. My registered email for NordVPN was automatically filled. The real password is strong enough to not be cracked.
And what's totally weird is that any not blank password was allowing the connection to VPN servers. I've checked that not trying to connect, my IP was as expected the normal no-VPN one.
It was so weird that my teenager kids made fun of it last week-end, typing crazy passwords and it connected well each time. By the way, my son told me not nice things about my VPN provider. I almost forgot the password after weeks connecting with anything but a blank, like "1" or "a".
This morning, I've made searches on the Web to find out what happened and after weeks of dysfunction, it worked again (WTF!), without any update. And it asked my for allowing an update.
I had a live chat with NordVPN an hour ago, the guy told me that he never heard about something like this. Asked him if it was possible with a local hack... he had no clue ("let's say it's a glitch").
The antiviruses as BitDefender or Kaspersky found nothing when the "glitch" was active. And I have not enough technical knowledges for understanding what happened.
If someone has any clue, I would be grateful to help me know if it could have only been a weird glitch, because that's not very reassuring about NordVPN.
