im up north on 17, small town, not too bad a place.

we did a NC members meet a few years ago in raleigh that JohnCU helped put together. Had a good time and anand himself even came out to meet everyone.

Charlotte here. NC is pretty badass really. You have Asheville/Blue Ridge PKWY on one end and the OBX on the other.

Fayettenam is definitely a shithole, yeah. Durham is better than its ever been though. The DPAC is great if you ever get a chance to see a show there.

If there's one nice thing to say, it is that the exotic dancers in the region tend to charge 33% less for their services compared to the similar establishments in the triangle area.

There was a stretch of 4, 5 years when many of my friends were getting married and I couldn't help but notice this.

It used to be very bad, it's not so bad now, but we do still refer to it as Fayettenam...

It's right there with 250 square miles of Army post...that brings a lot of baggage to a city...

Hay street was prostitute and criminal central for a long time, but it's relatively clean now.

I can remember my Dad shooing the ladies away from our car back in the day...

I've lived, stayed, or traveled to most places in the US, this area is one of the best (at least for me anyway).

I didn't see any prostitutes when I was there a few days ago. I did find a Chick-fil-a though so I think that makes up for any criminal activity.
