*Exceptions may apply.

Example, there's a few trees down in my yard. And you live in the northeast.

btw, why didn't you make one of these threads for the Cat 3 tornado that tore Western Mass a new one on June 1st?

I know what you mean OP. It's ridiculous regarding snow, too.

Snow in the north - Whew, only a foot of snow!
Snow in the south (or where it doesn't snow often) - OMG an entire INCH of snowwww!!!! Oh nooooooooooooooooooooo!

It's fucking annoying.

After hurricane Ike passed though Texas, my brother found 2 boats that blew into his yard from Louisiana.

The storm surge picked the boats up, blew them across the sabine river, through a marsh, and into my brothers yard. I dont know what he ever did with the boats, but after the storm got finished with them, they were not worth having. The hulls had been smashed in several locations.

crazy. almost as if different regions experience different weather patterns and are more used to some than others.

let me know how Houston reacts next time 2' of snow get dumped on it overnight.

Are you seriously sitting here beating your chest that you have stronger natural disasters than others? I thought I had seen it all...

No, he's talking about little bitches blowing it out of proportion for whatever reason. "Oh yeah, well I was at home when Irene hit!" Like it's a big fucking deal. He's actually berating the people that beat their chests.

2 inches? Try just the the threat of 1" of snow. Not only will there be multiple 75+ car pileups, but the entire city will shut down for three days.

New England gets hit by some crazy stuff though.

Sunday evening the weather channel was making a big deal out of a couple of sailboats floating loose in some harbor in new york city. Seriously? Is that they best they could come up with?

After hurricane katrina, ships were washed inland.

After hurricane ike, barges were washed inland and blocked major roads.

How do you make a big deal out of a tiny sailboat?

If anything, the damage in Virgina and Maryland got less attention then 6 inches of water over some boardwalk in New York.

I'm sorry you're so angry over the over-preparedness.

Perhaps the worst damage caused by Irene was to your fragile emotions.

Hurricane Irene. Never forget.

/shrug. Figures someone would use that as an excuse. Never mind that I didn't even say anything about being prepared.

All I or the OP mentioned were people making a big deal out of nothing. He's tired of hearing whiny Irene'ers complain about minor little piddly-shit "problems" incessantly. "Hey, good for you, you have to spend an afternoon cleaning up the "carnage." We have gigantic storms all the damn time" if you will.

And yeah, it's the same for snow. Sorry, area-that-doesn't-get-much-snow, we don't give a fuck if you got an inch of snow and freaked out about it. You're a pussy. Fuck off.

How about some real hurricane pictures

The brown stuff in the yard are reeds washed out of the marsh with the storm surge.

PRO TIP:

Don't open a topic that has hurricane or Irene in the title for a few days. Your stress level will decrease.

Sorry.

Lets see some pics from hurricane Irene.

Here is a pic taken in Bridge City after hurricane Ike. Looks like the walls were washed out from the storm surge, and the house collapsed.

Not really. Am I coming off that way? It's not my intention...

Don't seem mad at all. Your words seem to have a peaceful, calming effect on me.

Are we playing the "My hurricane is bigger than yours" E-Penis game now? How about you look at some pics of New Orleans after Katrina and give it a rest.

Well, to be fair, the south is used to hurricanes, while the north isn't. And let's not also forget, north and south alike, not even a week ago, cried together in unison like scared little bitches when confronted by a pissant little 5.8 earthquake.
