Northwood for sale

On another forum, someone reported that the northwood was available at googlegear for $679 oem. I checked it out, and it's apparantly true. A 2.2 gigahurtz cpu with 512k cache. Pretty steep price. Maybe if I win the lottery...

I tried accessing the site, but no go. Can anyone confirm? So if and when this processor does hit the market how will this affect the prices of AMD chips? Should I hold off buying a chip until these get released?

hmm, looks like intel has there process down. This is probably an indication that they can ramp the speed of the northwood very quickly.

I thought the Northwood was going to run on a 133/532 FSB?

I would expect to see versions of the Pentium4 running at a 133mz fsb soon now that motherboards based on the 845 chipset are now allowed to be coupled with pc2100. I think they will continue to produce 100 mhz fsb versions just like they did with the pentium3. Just a thought though.

Add an Asus P4B266 motherboard and a Mushkin 512MB Special CL2 DDR RAM and run it at 133 FSB CPU and memory, you can upgrade to a super 2.8GHz system for less than $1000 now.
