NAV2003 OEM 1 year version is $16.
The 90 day OEM versions are normally referred to as trial versions. They have the same features as the 1 year versions they just don't last as long.Originally posted by: dnuggett
It doesn't say anything about a trial copy... how did you know that it is?
I could be wrong but the 90 day versions are the same so I don't think you can easily reinstall with a new 90 day disk when your first 90 days runs out. You don't type in a serial number on the 90 day OEM installs. Also, ordering 4 of the 90 day disks would cost me $17.26 when ordering the 1 year disk would be $20.92. For a difference of $3.66 I would rather order the 1 year version and not have to worry about updating it every 3 months, assuming that the updates would work.Originally posted by: ness1469

How does that really make sense?
buy 4 of the 90 day trials and you get it for 4 dollars less..
whatever.
Or, if you don't mind rebates and have something to use for an upgrade rebate, get SystemWorks 2003 Retail at Amazon for -$7.01 (i.e., a $7.01 profit) after rebates.Originally posted by: SimMike2
Get the Systemworks 2003 OEM for around $18 shipped (search through past forum threads). This is a much better deal and you get a year of anti virus updates.

Geez, I get the 90-day copy of NAV for free on the CD every time I buy a FIC motherboard. But I'll copy it to a CD and sell it to you for $3 if you want.

Hi everyone,
I don't post here obviously it is my first post. I always seem to be the late comer on the hot deals.
Anyhow this thread caught my attention. The NAV OEM version that you found will give you the full version of NAV like was previously mentioned. But a trick to having NAV is that if you buy the disk and you subscription is about to expire you can uninstall the disk and reinstall it. This will give you another full 90 days. You are completely within the licensing agreement to do so for the life of the product. However for the NAV 2004 they will have an activation key to prevent this. But till then it will work just fine.

The only difference with 2003 is that there may be a bug fix or two, and that you don't have to immediately download updates.
If the updates are included in the cost of 2002, and I save a 40-50+ dollars taking the time to download them, then sign me up!
My verdict is no matter what version of these you buy, it's a sweet deal to protect against the nasties of the web... that is, if you are worried about that sort of thing
(Never had a virus in my 4 years of computing. I installed a free copy of NAV every now and then and nothing shows up.)
Rnav2003.exe is a utility that manually uninstalls the program files and registry entries that are installed by NAV 5.0/2000/2001/2002/2003. It does not remove the files or registry keys for the virus definitions, subscription information, entries in the Task Scheduler, or other shared files.
