Use both rebates to make $7 upgrading to Norton AV 2006.

1.) Buy Norton AV 2006 at the egg, $32.99 with free shipping
Link

2.) Download the two $20 rebate forms from the CompUSA Norton AV page

One rebate requires the Proof of Purchace, the other the UPC code. To get the $20 upgrade rebate you also need proof of a previous stand-alone, retail version version of any Norton or Symantec software or another company's antivirus, firewall, antispam, antispyware, utility, or backup software product.

For previous owners of a stand-alone, retail (boxed or downloaded) version of
any Norton? or Symantec? software or another company?s antivirus, firewall,
antispam, antispyware, utility, or back up software product.

Proof of previous ownership of NAV required! Yuck, horrible deal.

---

The requirement for proof of previous ownership is not unusual for software that is free after rebates.

You have been warned in the past about thread crapping, and you were recently given a time out for your rudeness.

Grow up, or go away. If you cannot manage the first option, we can enforce the second one.

sorry... I haven't checked your cusa rebate forms, but did you check to be sure they are "generic" and not specific to cusa?

Symantec offer 06-48760 is a multi-vendor (NAV is FAR at Amazon right now with the same 2 rebates) "Back to School" promotion and will probably work.

It's important to check though because Symantec does use different UPCs for different vendors and if the rebate is for only one vendor, they will catch it.

I had NAV back in 2001, does that count?
Yes, it should work. You have to send them either the front page of the manual or the CD.

Yes, they are generic rebate forms.

And yes, sending in an old disk will work.

Remember, the upgrade rebate will work if you have Proof of Purchace from ANY manufacturers security product.

It should work if you had the full version. I know a lot of manufacturers threw in a free copy of NAV bundled with their hardware. If that's the case, then it does not qualify for upgrade, and is stated in the rebate form.

of course, you don't have to actually use the new version to make money on the deal, you can continue to use your free AVG!

"Enclose proof of previous ownership of a stand-alone, retail (boxed or downloaded) version of any Norton? or Symantec? software or another company?s antivirus, firewall, antispam, antispyware, utility, or back up software product by furnishing either a copy of the previous product?s CD, first page of manual (usually titled ?User?s Guide?), or your confirmation email from your previous download purchase. Products pre-installed or supplied by an OEM manufacturer do not qualify."
