Norton disabling

Hello, My Norton Antivirus keeps getting disabled and I cant enable it (it won't let me do that) I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and then it worked. But then after shutting down for the night and rebooting it is disabled and wont let me enable it. I am up to date on live update as far as I know.Any Ideas ??

Probably got a virus/trojan/malware!!!!.................................believe it or not some specifically (spell?) target NAFF.... err sorry NAV.... and live inside its own folder..............try doing an online av scan with Panda or Trend Housecall...


............................then get some AV that works (coz if it AINT a virus what does that tell you about Norton?........................................................)

check the settings options, you can make it turn off on startup.

If you are running WIndows XP, and it hasn't been too long, you might try System Restore function. It is completely reversible and takes just a few minutes.

thanks guys...so Monzie, are you saying Norton aint what its cracked up to be ?? I take it you use the ones you linked to. From what I have been reading alot of people dont think much of Norton.

edit: btw..I ran HouseCall and it didnt find anything. Thats good I think

Mine always boots disabled (with the red X on it) but always lets itself be enabled. But at the next boot it's disabled again. Shrug.
