HI, I recently have tried to Ghost my drive and Ghost cant seem to find it. It says it cant see it. I am running the A7N8X 2.0 Deluxe with Silicon Image SATA controllers. Now, Symantec states that it is compatible with the NEW SATA standard, but it only list Intel I865 Chipset. I just wanted to know if I am doing something wrong, or is it just that Symantec is not supporting SATA yet. Thanks, Carlos!

I have a A7N8x 2.0 Deluxe and a raptor. I made a Ghost image but it was so long ago that I can't remember if there were any issues. To my knowledge I didn't have any problems.
Same advise as for most things. Make sure driver and Ghost are up to date.

Symantec should already have a fix for it. Do a Live Update and have Symantec push out a fix for your version of Ghost (I believe you'll need at least Ghost 2003). If you are still having problems, use the -fni switch to run Ghost (ie. ghost.exe -fni). See if that works for you.

If you can't get it working the people at Acronis assure me that their product will work fully and completely with SATA. I intend to try this myself later in the week if I get an opportunity. So take it for what it's worth at this point.

Creating an Image and restoring from an Image are not necessarily mutually inclusive. I can create an Image using the latest version of Drive Image, but cannot successfully restore from that Image. From your post, I see that you can't even create one with Ghost.

One without the other is of no value to me.

The Drive Image 2002 product will work. I have first hand knowledge of this.

It's interesting how Symantec likes to gobble up these smaller companies that make good software and then fails to keep the product up to date. Kind of sad actually.

WEll, actually I do have Ghost up to date and running it from windows seems to not work. I will try running ghost from the CD and running it that way.

I will keep it posted.

Thanks for your help and sorry for not answering quicker, I was on a little vacation

Sincerely, Carlos!
