Well, it looks like it is going to work for me!

Go here and find NSW 2003 for $12.99. As if that was not enough of a good deal, when I added it to my cart and went to check out, I got a code to get anotehr $10 off instantly! Not sure if that was something special to me or not, but the code appeared!

Also, this is for upgraders, so $30 is hinging on your having an older version. OEM counts though!

Thanks for the post. I ordered my right away. Last year I got the NSW 2002 for about $15 and considered it a real deal. This time it was much better at $2.99
In case someone doesn't know, NSW also includes 1 year of free updates for the virus scanner .

Also note that this does not include Ghost 2003 (you need the Pro version for that).

I don't think missing Ghost2003 is a big deal tho, unless you're a backup freak

I'm a backup freak... cause Ghost 2003 can do its images without booting into dos mode... a big plus in the newer version. I bought the pro version.

My apologies about teh referal link. I did not notice that. I did find it on another site. Not sure if it works without the referal or not. I know you can get it for $12.99 AR without it.

I assure you, that is not my referal.

As for the OEM, the rebate form states:

Previous owners of pre-loaded (OEM) Norton or Symantec product must enclose a copy of the previous products Help/About screen.

And it goes on how to do a screen capture and paste it and print it.

I just edited out the referal portion af the link. I have no idea if this is going to impact the extra $10 off that you get during the checkout.

I think you can still get the $10 instant rebate by using the coupon code listed on the page.

The extra $10 is definitely available via the revised link. You just have to enter the code on the page yourself, and the code is pretty hard to miss on the page. It's the waiting for another $50 in rebates that I don't like.

Did anyone ever receive the free version of this that Norton was offering a while back? I signed up, but did not hold my breath in doing so.

I was wondering the same thing. I doubt it will come since Norton was slammed by AnandTechers going after the deal. I'm sure that wasn't what they had in mind. Who knows though, maybe you'll find a surprise in the months to come?

A - Rossman - yes. The Symantec coupon has detailed instructions on what to do in your case. Check the coupon which is posted with the product on the Amazon page.

B - Ordered it when this was first posted. Received in 5 days from Amazon.com. Shipping was FREE, no tax, so net price delivered was 2.99. Better deal than other sites' "Free + shipping".

It looks like your link to a 'free' version is actually 2002, whereas this thread is for 2003.
