Wow, good price if they're legit. I paid 15 and change for mine. Definately worth it.

Nice price, they also have some other items of interest:

PowerDVD 4.0 $12.99 EDIT: seems like you can buy one for $8 on eBay
WinDVD 2000 $4.99
Cakewalk Home Studio 9 (last year's version I think) $29.99

Well, I just ordered one, too good to pass up. I have Pro 2001, but it won't work with Win XP, and I suppose I'll have the OS before long.

Thanks Joker!Ive been waiting for a good deal on systemworks.
Although win dvd 2000 says its for 98 thru 2000, I did find one newsgroup poster claiming sucess with XP so maybe someone else who has used it can comment. As always with these things ymmv. I took a chance on it...

After reading all the horror stories about 2002 ( I loved 2001 on my 98 system) I am only going to install the AV on my new XP. Go to CNET.COM and read the reviews. Scary

I dont know about the rest of the programs in this version, but Id say avoid goback at all costs and just use the restore built into XP if you need that feature.

I bought 2001 and found out that I cant use Ghost to back up my NTFS partitions. Supposedly this is fixed in 2002.

Can anyone confirm this for me ??

Thx

Fred,

I think that you are correct - for XP partitions you need to use Ghost 2002. Check out www.radified.com for a good guide to Ghost that comes to the same conclusion.

I bought this a few weeks ago to use in my soon-to-be upgrade to WinXP. I've been pretty happy with version 2001 running under Win2k. Now I read the reviews on CNET and I'm thinking maybe this is not such a good idea. Looks like SystemWorks 2002 has a lot of people pissed off. Hmmmmmm.

Thx for the deal joker, I can now replace my *trial (cough cough) version with a legitamate...I mean, full version, copy.
Can anyone link to the reviews at CNET. I've been using NSW2002 for a few months now (on winXP) and haven't had any problems with it. I like it alot better than 2001 (which I ran on win2k).

Edit: Found the reviews...jeez, looks like people are having a shotty time w/ this program. I did run an install off a formatted drive, so I didn't run into the problem that nearly 95% of the complaints were about. But seriously, that's ridiculous. Why the hell wouldn't Symantec offer a functioning uninstaller for previous versions?!?! As for the loss of functionability, the only thing I really miss is the ability to wipe "empty" space after a defrag.

Imho a clean install is always the way to go with any windows version, and it looks like with XP this will also avoid NSW problems...

seems like a lot of the problems are due to previous installations of NSW. luckily for me I installed NSW2002 on a fresh new XP system. no slowdowns, and AV doesn't hold my OS hostage for any period of time. quick bootup like before I installed NSW. I never trust upgrade installations anyways. never have. always buggy.

excellent price, btw.

You can get one for less than $9 shipped at Half.com right now.

Note: The shipping charge could be outragous, but they have a free shipping promotion (up to $10). So the final cost comes out to be less than $9 shipped.

Thanks.
