Montyb&frglss - thanks for the reply - I have a question about ghost -
For quite awhile I have used Western Digital EZ-drive and Maxtor Maxblast to copy my C drive to another partition for my backup - it exactly clones my C drive so that if I crash, I can then copy the backup partition back to the C drive. My question is, does ghost do any more except maybe copy to a CD? does it compress or something else. I'm just wondering what the additional advantage is.

I just got off the phone with a CSR and he told me that if you log onto their site after 5 o'clock tonight all orders for NSW 2001 will be processed and that you should be able to get a tracking number. He also said that when you click the "obtain your ups tracking number here" link you will be emailed a password in order to track your order. Remember they are in Central Standard Time. Hope this helps. Damn I forgot to ask if this was for sure OEM or retail, oh well. I guess I'll see when it comes. Either way its still a good deal even at the higher price they want for it now.

Got NSW 2001 Professional Ed. from Access Computer today via UPS. Ordered on Sunday. Packaging crappy. Must have some 5 year olds in the shipping dept. Luckily the disc is ok.

I saw this deal a few days ago. The site looked legit, so I ordered it, thinking it must be warez or at least something shady, such as version 2000 home edition. Paid $19 plus $4.62. The legitimate Symantech CD arrived three dayas later, boxed with loads of peanuts, UPS.

Opened it up and it indeed is System Works 2001 Professional. This is the best software deal I've had in a long time. I don't care for Norton Antivirus but everything else is great, including Ghost. No hard copy manual, but the help files have all you need.

This deal gets three thumbs up from me. Thanks for posting it. I'll deal with this directdeals.com again. Incredible price, super fast shipping for peanuts, and shipped in plenty of peanuts.

This may be a little off topic but I just read a nice Swapfile Optimazation Guide.
The crux of the guide tells us to place out swap file on the outter portion of harddisk, for the fastest data transfer, and make it permanent. Norton's Speed Disk utility, included with Systemworks (I think) is recommended to move the swapfile. OK, I'm done. Back to the topic.

Nessism - thanks for the OT and the good link- I learn a lot from these. Most of my problems are caused by software, so I like to backup
to another partition. A more secure way that I use, is to add a slave drive to the primary IDE and only plug in the molex power connector when I want to backup using EZ-Drive or Maxblast. Odds are pretty extreme that both drives would crash at the same time. Incidentally, Maxblast partition copying limits the total partitions involved to 24, but as long as one of the drives is a WD, EZ-drive has allows more total partitions. I've had no problems or noticed any penalties from leaving the slave drive connected to the IDE cable without power.
One of these days I'm going to get around to putting in a switch to avoid physical disconnecting the molex each time - though it's not really a prob. In the these days of cheaper large drives, I always have more drives than I'm using.

I ordered form accesscompinc because I wanted some of their other bargain software and CSR said they would be shipped the next day.

Would someone who has used Ghost tell me if it will do more than EZ-drive than copy to a CD? Thanks for the help.

Whelp, got my Systemworks CD from Directdeals today.

Immediately installed it on my Win2k machine and got the blue screen of death during reboot. Said page fault error. I had to uninstall the sucker. Kinda disappointing. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

I would have mine, but UPS lost it. Now Access has to do a trace which can take up to two weeks.

Subpar...go to the symantec web sight and look up some of there FAQ. They may be able to give you some advice or a fix for your problem.
