Does anyone use this? What do you think of it? I usually hate using any add-ons just because so many things are infected these days.

This seems pretty legit though.

It's legit, but a PITA to use imo. I just don't feel like putting that much attention into my browser. Give it a try and see how you like it. You can uninstall it if it doesn't suit you.

I use it. It takes a week or two to set up the sites you visit regularly that need Javascript. But once that's done it's rarely any bother.

It's one of firefox's most valuable extensions, but often a pia. I'll always use it when first visiting a site, but since many sites simply aren't viewable without it, a new site may get permissions anyways. That defeats the purpose, but it's very difficult determine if some sites are risky until you're already infected from it.

I love it. I use it on my computers.

The downside as others have said is that it takes a little while to put together a whitelist for all the sites you normally visit.

I know it has saved me more times than I can count from getting bad things on my computer. If you stay with a small number of websites and only relatively safe websites then you probably don't need it. However, if you ever go to a lot of different sites or visit some of the seeder sides of the internet then you'll definitely get some extra protection.

The main thing to keep in mind when using it is to only allow what you need. Most websites will function by just allowing the main website (For example: anandtech.com) to run javascript. Sometimes you may need to add a 3rd party website. This is where it gets trickier, it's not always easy to tell what ones you need. Also, I add some ad/tracking websites to my blacklist/Untrusted list. These ones won't even show up for sites to enable javascript without going into the Untrusted list.

Another side benefit is that I see very little advertising. Most of the time I see nothing at all or just a blank space.

I use it on my work computer. It works great, and it doesn't really take long to right click->temporarily allow scripts when I go to a site that requires it.

Just set it to only allow sites you visit or whatever. More websites work without setting options, but it still blocks all the third-party scripts until you allow them.

you are paranoid abuot addons most common /popular addons are probably fine. if anything its the one thing that will keep you from being easily infected.

i use no script, works ok. its not something you'd fob off on a computer n00b though. you pay a price sometimes guessing which script to allow.

I am using it, and I think it is a very good security addon to FireFox.

When I first used No Script I also thought it was a pain in the ass to guess which script to allow. But it didn't take long to understand which sites are trustworthy, and when you can set to allow. I have visited sites where there is nothing but a no script block icon on the page, and that just makes me glad that I have a choice to close that page without finding out what it is going to execute.

I don't bother. I got tired of white-listing or temporarily allowing scripts on nearly every site I visit, and I rarely go to websites that I worry may infect or otherwise compromise my computer. It felt like just one more hoop I had to jump through every time I searched for something new.

Basically, If I was REALLY concerned having tight-knit security when browsing the web, I wouldn't be running Firefox at all (or IE, Chrome, Safari, Opera, etc.).
