nose cartilage hurts so bad - anyone ever had this?

my nose cartilage and skin started hurting earlier this week and hurt like crazy today. painful just to wear glasses or blow my nose.

ATOT, am i a goner? has anyone had this happen and lived to tell the tale?

i guess i'll schedule a dr appointment for friday, hopefully they don't make me take my clothes off just to look at my nose

that's why i havent had a checkup in 2 decades

I'm not a doctor, but I had that a few years ago. Research online -- Doctor Google -- led me to believe that it was a bacterial infection. Doctor Google said the treatment was usually antibiotics, we had some extra, so I took some for a few days. Cleared right up... or would it have cleared up on its own? And did I just punch myself in my sleep or sleep with my arm on my face?

No clue because I didn't go see a doctor. Seriously, I need to find myself a doctor.

P.S. Shitting was not the same for over a week. Thanks antiobiotics and self-diagnosis plus medication.

Yup, I chalked it up to a sinus infection although I had no other symptoms. If it lasts more than a week i would see a doc. Or just go now if you're worried about it.

Had it the past 2 weeks. Went from one side to the other. Found that while blowing nose, push up on the affected area. Felt better a couple of hours later.

Its likely a pimple/gram positive bacterial cyst in your nose. Likely an inflamed/infected hair follicle inside your nose. Something like that.

I've gotten pimples in hair follicles in my nose from plucking the occasional nose hair. It never hurt to wear glasses but it did hurt to pinch my nose, it was pretty sensitive and it self resolved. Your nose is a repository of staph bacteria.

I hope this isn't true brianmanahan, you should really get a checkup. I am sure you can find a physician who is sympathetic to your situation (as much as medically possible in order to examine you)
