Thanks for the heads-up.
My UPS was jumping back and forth between online and battery so it had to go back anyway.
This way they pay the postage both ways.

Hehe, thankfully no just likes to kick over on battery for no apparent reason. Another model APC does fine on the same outlet, and already returned this one once worked fine for a month and started doing the same thing.

I have one of each model. the CS 500 is hooked up to my TV and the CS 350 actually has a computer on it.

I am pleased how APC is handling the recall so far. I "regiestered" my two UPSes today.

YAY, I have one of the affected ones, APC CS-500. I had it for almost an year now and there is absolutely nothing wrong with my unit as far as I can tell, but if APC is replacing these units for free, why not? ;-)

Had one of these in my office a couple of xmas's ago....I think I may be one of the few "registered complaints" that they speak of, since the damned thing almost completely fried the electrical closet that it was being used in:| Filled the entire office w/nasty grey smoke, and had actually ignited the particle board rack that it was sitting in. Luckily, it happened during business hours, or ....who knows?

Seems like the BE350U (which was the one which most folks got in CC after rebate on BF) is not included...

I had one of these units explode and start a fire in my house last May. APC claimed that it was a fluke and paid my $2000 in damages.................. I guess there was a real problem:|

Thanks for not locking this one! I actually registered my back-up unit when I got it (because I had to download the Win XP software which didn't come with it!) and did the company notify me of the recall? Hell no! Thanks for the info.
