My first 3d card was a Jazz multimedia voodoo rush card. Think I paid around $175 for it. At the time it was hot stuff. (Even if it was a so-so combo 2d/3d card) Back then 3D gaming cards really made the difference. Since then it's mainly been a rush to get the fastest fps from the video card makers. I've had the TNT, TNT-2, Geforce and not the Geforce 2 GTS (Thanks to the guy who told us all about the staples pricematch on the Elsa Gladiac) While they've made improvements on display quality all they mainly did was increase the FPS. Once the Geforce 3 takes off I think we'll start seeing some really quality 3D imagery. I think Nvidia knows that this card won't sell as well as previous ones, but they have chosen to finally push quality over quantity. Next year when we are drooling over just how real the next greatest 3D game is on our geforce4 (or whatever they'll call it) we'll see why the Geforce3 had to be.
