See above. In my case, I would call Staples first, Parago second. No resolution? Small claims court.
Fire off an email requesting info from whoever handles your rebate. Advise them of the likelihood/possibility of checks bouncing and the current Cendyne situation.
After your first automatic reply, immediately file another email asking for specific info. If they send you a check, knowing it may bounce, I believe they would be liable for all your fees, etc in Small Claims Court.
Charge them for the time you spend in court as well, lost wages or lost personal day, bandwidth on this forum and atyour courts website getting the info. If I get a check, I don't want it to bounce. Don't send me a check if it's gonna bounce.
I read earlier in this thread that sent checks are already funded at Parago's or whoever's bank. I don't believe this is so as checks are bouncing.
There are special accounts for large check producing entities that may only be funded when a check is presented. You can never check the balance on these accounts, even internally, cause they will always show zero. Their other banking business supports the checks, line of credit, etc.
If you have a check, what are the names on the check. Granted it still could be a Parago or RebatesHQ check with Cendyne's info on it. Is there a tel# or other way to determine the bank name. Lastly, you can use the first 9 digits on the bottom of the check and do a search based on this ABA#, call the bank and find out who the acct belongs to.
Hopefully not Cendyne because they can't issue checks anymore.
