I dont think USB can go past 16 feet... and it gets slower the longer the cable IIRC.

I think the max lenght is around 60' but you need a powered usb hub or switch every 6 or 10 feet to keep signal strength up

Interestingly enough, according to Intel, *any* USB extension cable of any sorts violates the specs. So even those short little USB extensions that ship with some USB flash drives (couple feet at most, usually), are in violation of the USB specs.

59' - no way. 59" - more believable, but still way, way, outta spec. I'd never trust my data to something like that.

Thankfully, "wireless USB" is on the way, so soon perhaps USB cable length will not matter at all.

This is a set of cables I now use with my laptop since I am on the road 5 days a week. I costs 49.99 at TigerDirect, but 9.99 (19.99 - 10 Rebate) at skymall. Surprising, since your just ordering through skymall, but TD is the one actually delivering it. BTW, skymall is the store whose magazine/catalog you find whenever you fly in almost all airlines. They actually just resell stuff from a lot of stores.
