Just for me and 1000's of other people :disgust:. SO thought I'd spread the wealth about the secret sale. Ah well, time to head out and get the G/F something else .

At least a private small coupon or something Jcrew would be nice, I even called my Credit card company and was charged. That better come off in a few days ot im going to be extremely upset.

I got the same e-mail and I ordered the exact same thing 3 hours after you....My G/F's birthday is on the 18th, so I hope if I order their new sweaters on the 8th, it will arrive by then. If not, I'm off to the mall to get a not so hot deal.

My order was also not filled. So I called them this evening and was told pretty much what everyone already knows, they didn't have enough inventory to cover the sale.

I was also offered the "exclusive" upcoming sale in addition to a $10 GC which should come in my email notification of the new sale.

To those who have not gotten a confirmation of shipment I'd give them a call and talk to a supervisor to get the email notification of the upcoming sale plus a $10 GC.

Let's gather all the people who placed the order and file complaints with the BBB.

My feeling is that since we have already placed the order and gave our credit card numbers, we have already entered a binding contract with J.Crew

Imagine a person who bought an air ticket online and goes to the airport but the gate agent tells that person that they are giving him or her a refund because the flight was overbooked, the sale was overwhelming, and their "real-time" inventory system was not real time.

What about the plans that the person has made? Do you think a refund will appease his or her anger?

I think filing complaints with the BBB is gettin out of hand .. Jcrew is a reputable company and Im sure that they wouldnt charge your Credit card unless the order has been shipped .. this companys website was not meant to handle an enormous amount of orders as they were flooded by many deal seekers. I myself got one out of my 3 sweaters canceled .. 2 outta 3 is good enough and Im not gonna cry about losin a sweater I was only going to pay $10 for.

My 2 cents ...

I agree. They simply oversold their stock. Their inventory apparently control apparently isn't as sophisticated as neweggs. I don't see any lack of integrity in this deal or company. Sending emails out like this must be an embarrassement to them, and I'm sure they will do their best to avoid this from happening again.

But lets all hit their site hard on the 8th tho.

weird one of my orders says shipped, but when i click on the reference # for some xtra detail, i get an error message like this:

Damn I hope mine goes through! I ordered at 1:30am Thursday morning, so hopefully there wont be a problem. Unfortunately, more order "Confirmation Number" doesn't bring up and order status on their web page, and I do not see any other reference numbers in the email. Hmmm....

I agree totally, so they ran out, SO What! Like just about all of the really great deals that show up here it was a crap shoot.

What are we going to have next: "The wounded sweater people"??
