Well it's the 9th today and all the refunds are supposed to be done today. My helpdesk ticket is still open. So far none of their promises have come true, they have till the end of today for refunds or we need to take some action.

Does anyone have the main irc server that you go do or how to get to the cyberwings one? I couldn't find it yesterday.

I never even attempted a stab at a refund...it's only $10. To me, PayPal is only a pal to the next scam artist.

Ever wonder why Shawn insisted that payment thru PayPal was best? Probably because most other routes lead to Postal FRAUD Charges being brought.

It doesn't look good. Macsamrui said it, SHawn was suppose to issue out refunds using certified bank checks no Western Union Money Orders. So I think our fat cow of a CEO shawn has probably surfed the internet and found MacSamuri's webpage and hoping to apease some of the more vocal disgruntled customers he issues him a refund. That makes it seem like things are actually getting done when in fact they are not. Just like how only a few people had their accounts setup so it seemed like everything is back on track.


On a side note. I just submitted a new refund ticket and it's listed at #2921.

So I'm guessing there's 2,921 people waiting to get a refund.

While I've been following this (yup, I've waiting for a rebuild, figured it was a cheap long-shot) for awhile, I'd say that Shawn lived up to the spirit of the promises he made on this one (at the end, not the whole saga). I think that the website should be updated to show refund received. As for the rest, you're picking nits (to a point). Wait, don't hit. :Q

Shawn said he had *processed* the refund. He didn't say he mailed it! He said it would be there the 9th and it was. He said they do have tracking information which is a stretch as the number hadn't been issued, but would be once mailed (assuming he planned on sending it express). The difference between a bank certified check and money order from Western Union is moot. A Western Union money order is as good as cash (hint, Western Union was the creator of the money order if I recall correctly, not exactly something shady). As for the location of the postmark, Bethesda and Silver Spring are 4 miles apart. It is VERY possible that the "closest" post office to the Western Union office "in" Bethesda was in fact across the street "in" Silver Springs (and both are in the Beltway area).

I'm not trying to support Shawn or critize him (plenty of others doing that). But, I think it only fair that you note on the front page that you did get a money order delivered to you. I think you've been so mad for so long you're looking for reasons to find fault. Considering Shawns side, I too would use a money order since I wouldn't want my bank account (or even branch) known to people at this point

Congrats on the refund. Hopefully that is a good omen for the rest of us (rebuild or refund).

I think the ticket numbers are sequential regardless of category. I put in a "question for CEO Shawn" and it was in the same area as rebuild and refund tickets people were quoting at the time. Easy to check if someone sets up a dummy account. Make one refund, one rebuild, and one question ticket (make em blank) and that should give a definative answer.

My guess is that there are only ~3,000 "active" customers who noticed CW came "back to life" and filed a ticket. Actually probably only about 2,000 since there are probably 50% filing two tickets for whatever reason.

gof - those were some good points that you stated. At this point who cares how much he deviated from his "procedure" - she got her money, and that should be the most important thing. She can finally walk away from this nightmare. I'm sure she's invested much more than that in her time, effort, and possibly money.

Also, I've had Express Mail stuff not make it for three days, with no real explanation from the post office as to why. Cost me a good paying job too...

Furthermore, people keep making the mistake that CW had 13,000 customers. They had about 5,000 according to them. They hosted (again, according to them) 16,000 websites, a big difference. Some of them won't care because they spent next to nothing, and others got refunds by filing chargebacks, so they won't have tickets. And then there are some who don't have a clue as to what is going on (there are still occasional people popping up and saying "my website seems to be down, anyone know what's going on?") and haven't gotten around to filing...

another lesson in life I guess. Penny stock market lost $500...also I bailed out contributing to 401K crap.
