I went with just the $3.90 account for a few months, saying to my self "Hey.. so what if I lose $4 it's cool" (my site is just for fun) but when he had that last big sale before the price changes I paid $66 to have my account zappedx5 twice and having it switched to lifetime ( thought maybe with the price changes that the company might survive, that maybe all the sales were to just get the name out so he could really start billing and make some money....
Now I'm just kinda pissed, I still hope it might pull through ( it doesn't look good), but I'm switching the site I have to another host, if CW stays together well then I just use it for file hosting.

Everyone who signed up with CyberDing is getting exactly what they paid $3 per year for hosting. What the heck did people think was going to happen with 3 dollar per year hosting? Bandwidth costs are more than that, let alone the hardware and maintenance. Wake up people, you were taken -- typical of a ponzi type scheme, you wanted it to be true so you justified it in your mind how 3 dollars per year could be such a bargain.

I'm actually a bit more patient. I'll wait one more week but if it's not up before the end of July, I'm jumping on board with DIXIESYS and their July Specials. And if I'm reading correctly, I get 80 Megs of space and 3 gigs transfer for $19.99/year. not bad.

So to whoever's in charge of Dixiesys, Maybe you should run a special for CW people who are ready to jump ship and unto something more reliable.

Actually I disagree..

I signed up sometime in May and had everything propogated by May 28. That was the day I sent out the email telling everyone about my new custom email address (my own domain).
I signed up because I knew that most places charge $8-10+/month for hosting . I got 5 weeks (plus a few days) for my $2.10 X 3 domains to cyberwings. Did I think it would last a lifetime... nope! But I got my $6 out of them.

Am I still disputing it with my credit card? yup. The deal I agreed to was $2.10/yr and if can't deliver, he can't keep my $2.10. Regardless of what the fair market value or what another host would charge.

So I win both ways. I have thought about this and do not feel it's immoral to request the chargeback, as that's the deal (annual hosting) he offered to new customers.

I was wondering the same thing when I checked today. webchat is still up tho, its like irc.webhosting.com or irc.webchat.org or something like that. Apparently there are now 3 main channels. #cyberwings (official channel, pretty much perma modded now), #cw-supporters (mostly semi-supporting, or at least reasonable negative stuff, i.e. mostly not flames, still has some CW volunteers as ops) and #wingtalk (this one you can say anything you want about CW, no one from CW here to police it, HOWEVER this doesn't mean you can just go and spam, from the few minutes I've spent there, kinda interesting, not sure yet though). Personally I joined all 3 channels and am mostly seeing what other people are saying. BTW, these 3 channels occupy 3 of the top 4 channels on the channel list, by # of people.

Sorry Brasscat. I wasn't attacking you. I thought maybe there be an easier way to do it, then to have everyone send you thousands of e-mails or something and have you wade through it. Seems like an awful lot of work.
