Interesting and quite telling that the owners of RackShack care more about the suffering of cyberwings' customers than Shawn & the rest of the cyberwings staff does. Where is the cw email, notifying folks of the short opportunity to backup their data from the Texas servers?

This is what is on the IRc channel now:

<Apacapacas-Notabot> The room is moderated until Shawn can make an announcement about the questionnaire and the remaining boxes at the new datacenter. Meanwhile the latest info is on http://www.cyberwings.com

Shawn said the user questionnaire, the one everyone must complete in order to have their accounts rebuilt, would be online sometime today. He was delaying the posting because he wanted to make sure the media converter, which he said had to replace twice, was stable - even though, according to Shawn himself, it had been up and running "100% stable" for 23 hours.

It's been 19 hours since he said that and the questionnaire is still not available. What could possibly be causing the delay? Here are some possibilities:

A. another media converter failed, an unprecedented 3rd one in two days. An occurrence with odds longer than the Powerball lottery, must not be his lucky day!

B. another piece of equipment failed. He really wants to tell you which one, but he can't, those pesky non-disclosure agreements you see.

C. the "assistant" helping him at the datacenter missed his curfew last night and now he's grounded for a week. Really grounded, no phone or computer or nothin', so now Shawn has to do it all by himself.

D. An anthrax scare involving the govt. servers in his new datacenter has forced everyone's evacuation. Who knew you could send anthrax through email?

E. a malfunction with the newfangled biometric hand scanner prevented his entry into the building. You know how finicky that new technology is, just look at the problems he had with the media converter, and the router, and the cables, and the ...

F. He misplaced his lucky "Golden Fleece". I hate when that happens!

G. they're still not done testing the questionnaire yet. It's complicated you know, what with lotsa big words like "transaction ID" and stuff.

H. he's upset with the naysayers in the IRC channel. His "legal team", who are monitoring 24/7, want to know - "where's the love?"

Ha, that's all I can think of now. Just a little chucklefest to lighten the mood while some wait for the Great Oz ... uh, I mean Shawn, to make an announcement on his IRC channel. Ha, just typing that made me laugh. IRC, what a joke!

Nice -- like the yepo site.

Also, anyone know if the refund email address is back up or if there is another one?

All you guys who are whooping it up that your sites are back up. Should read the posts very carefully. The owner of Rackshack took pity on us all and relit the Rackshack servers until Thursday 8AM so that you may backup your data.

This, I repeat, This has nothing to do with our friend Shawn.

Only the kindness of a stranger.....

It's not so difficult to understand how Shawn was able to pull off this little fiasco with comments like these being posted here:

well my site is back up today =] it was only down maybe 3-4 days. no complaints from me.

My site is back up ... Maybe folks are getting back on line.

Hey, you, yeah you, brush up on those reading comprehension skills will ya!

The owner of the servers housed at RackShack in Texas decided, out of the goodness of his heart, to put those servers back online so that the Cyberwings account holders could backup their data. They will be taken back down (offline) at 8 am Central time on July 25. At that time all the hard drives will be formatted and the data will be gone forever.

Go back up your data now!

Anyone want to wager that one of those people coming out of the woodwork today to rejoice in their site being back online will post here sometime after tomorrow asking if anyone knows why they're down again?

IF RS is going to format the drives, doesn't it mean CW will not be able to get back on RS again? Anyone still have hope that CW will be back somewhere?

That is correct!

Anyone still have hope that CW will be back somewhere?

No. Well, let me qualify that. He might, with some luck, get the servers back online and actually post a questionnaire.

As far as actually setting up accounts and giving people not only the space and bandwidth they paid for but also increase it as he promised?

Zap, zap, zappity zap zap zap? 2x this and 5x that? Lifetime reseller and hold the pickles?

Not a chance.

And I don't think he has the cash to fulfill teh refund requests either. No evidence, just my opinion.

well, i was just wondering why we can't give shawn a bit faith, when all of you trusted those people who claim that there was no way shawn could've gotten Class A IPs. They sounded very serious and didn't seem like lying either, but @ the end, was proven false.

i know he's kept everything under secrecy for a long time, and i personally don't know why complaints need to be posted time after time claiming this is a scam and listing and relisting and re-relisting the reasons why. for those that know this is a scam, then be with it, try to get your refund back. something i see similar in many posts here that is very similar to shawn is that once something said gets proven incorrect, they immediately discard it and go screaming out the other reasons why they think this is a scam.

i personally had 3 accounts on CW and although i'm no happy with my sites down, i dont see how by complaining here will help.

//krunk

[edit] i personally think this thread would be more constructive if updates on CW were posted with feedback to that update. [/edit]
