...yeah, Cyberwings will now "Relaunch in Late Summer - Early Fall 2002" ---

No crook could be this stupid.... CEO must just simply be the biggest jacka$$ in the hosting business.

When is this guy going to jail????

Great! More comedy! From their TOS:

Refund and Disputes: All payments to Cyberwing Communications are nonrefundable. This includes the one time setup fee and subsequent charges regardless of usage. All overcharges or billing disputes must be reported within 60 days of the time the dispute occurred. If you dispute a charge to your credit card issuer that, in Cyberwing's sole discretion is a valid charge under the provisions of the TOS and /or AUP, you agree to pay Cyberwings an "Administrative Fee" of not less than $50 and not more than $150. Cyberwings will fight all chargebacks that we deem to have been valid charges. If you use our service, we will fight chargebacks all the way.

New Domain Accounts: All new webhosting accounts involving new domains will be set up and entered into our DNS servers within 3 to 5 business days. Due to unforeseen complications, however, this process may sometimes require up to 7 business days. If the new domain is registered by the account holder, there will be no handling fee. If the domain is registered by Cyberwings on behalf of the account holder a handling fee will be incurred.

Some may take up to 6 months or never. (Depending on if CEO Shawn feels like paying the bandwidth provider.)

There is more that I could laugh at. Most of which could possibly be easily challenged in court. But then again, I personally, would not touch a hosting service company that had that much crap in their TOS. Even my local ISP doesn't have that much in their TOS for my $30/month hosting plan!

Unfreakinbelievable... I hope all the anti-Cyberwings websites have submitted themselves to the big search engines. That way anybody who doesn't know the truth about Cyberwing(s) can find out before they hand over their money.

No crook could be this stupid.... CEO must just simply be the biggest jacka$$ in the hosting business.
I'm thinking: "Yes they could" and "Yes he is"

When is this guy going to jail????
He's not going to go anywhere if nobody complains outside of this forum. I second Ziptar's suggestion to "follow macsamurai's advice at this point and put Shawn on the run..."

EDIT: I just did a Google search for "cyberwings" and came up with this link to HostSearch.com where Cyberwings has a 9.7 (out of 10) rating!!! Come on folks, if you were a Cyberwings customer, let the public know what they're all about.

The best part is that he still has that button up there from Maine, even though he's been in Virginia for several weeks now. I know, maybe he's wroked out the stuff with LS and they are ready to kiss and make up. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

That's sweet and poetic to me! That site is done by a person with the screen name of katsuey. She argued with me and defended cyberwings during the first two weeks that it was down. Swore it was just some simple misunderstanding. Now she's lashing out at cyberwings. What an ignorant hypocrite!

You should drop her an e-mail and ask her about that.
"So katsuey, tell me again about how great Cyberwings is and how I just don't understand poor Shawny-wauny"

What an ignorant hypocrite!
Perhaps once ignorant, but now a person more informed of CEO_Shawn's evil ways

My refund ticket has been open for 23 days so far with no comments or updates from Cyberwings entered. He has not even sent an e-mail to all users in all that time and this after promising refunds would be sent by August 9th and for those suckers (oh, I mean people) wanting to keep their access the new accounts would begin to be setup. Then the irc chat disappeared so any little bit of info flow from them has stopped.

If anyone still has trust in Shawn and Cyberwings then they must be crazy. If Shawn is so trustworhty and means well why hasn't he kept his word and sent out communications also?

So let me get this straight: They want to slap an administrative fee of $50 to $150 on anyone who disputes a charge on their credit card?

Good luck. All that's going to net them is a SECOND chargeback.

I'm sure merchant banks are just lining up to get their business at this point.

Anyone who gave this guy their creditcard, needs to call and get issued a new card (i.e. new cc #). Shawn (if that's his real name) keeps posting messages from Mexico stringing people along. I wouldn't doubt if he charged everyone a 10-20 fee (ala russian hackers) in a last ditch attempt to make a few bucks before he sails off into the sunset. Whenever I've made the mistake of giving my CC info to a shady online retailer, I call up the next day, get issued a new card just for peice of mind. I don't like to find surprises on my CC bills. =)

You know, these latest shenanigans have made me start to doubt Cyberwings. But I still think that a lot of this is misunderstanding between the various parties. This is a company that has tremendous potential, and an extremely unique business model. I think people forget about all the good things about CyberWings, since the naysayers on the board seem to focus on negatives for the most part. As I've said before, only time will tell, but I really think that if people would just have a little patience then everything would work out fine. The new DC is going to totally rock!

thx for the webhostingtalk forum link...i think i've finally given up on Shawn, especially after reading some material from cyberwingssucks.com

is there anything out there that is even remotely as cheap as cyberwings was? specifically, i need unlimited multiple POP3, preferably with webmail, and a decent amount of space.

also - since i had registered a domain through cyberwingsdomains, do i have to re-register it with another host?

You've GOT to be kidding?!

Also: The reason there are NO bad reviews for CW on that site linked above, is because they FORCE you to have a valid email contact address at the domain you're hosted by. They send you a confirmation you must click on in the email in order to make your (bad) review appear. Well, guess what? Your domain IS DEAD.. YOU CANNOT log in. How can you get your bad review accepted? They also do not accept free email domains. Funny how this works for all those glowing reviews, huh?

No one gave CW their CC number. Everyone who used a CC paid through PayPal or 2CheckOut.

I agree with Monty. We need to relax, sit back, take a deep breath, and wait for the new datacenter cables to arrive. Cause Shawn's gonna make you all eat your words when I'm back up with my 40G transfer, unlimited e-mail, 1 gig storage website for the lifetime price of $6. Yeah, BABY!

check out the new look at www.cyberwings.com. Apparently Shawn is getting his people working on stuff again. Soon the datacenter will be coming back to life, with tons and tons of storage and lightning fast speed. All the accounts will be set up again, and all refunds would be given to those whinney quitters. hmmm, isn't daydreaming wonderful?

I wonder if Shawn has the movie rights to all this, because he could get his $1,000,000 by selling this melodrama.

Anyone out there who is still owed money by CW and paid by 2Checkout -- check this out....

Just email 2checkout and tell them about what happened and that you want your money back. You'll get it back within a few days.
