Jeez, that was the last thing about newegg that I liked. You still have the option of using fedex, but it costs more.

(This may be old news - I haven't bought anything for a while.)

You've probably also noticed the difference in shipping rates is next to nothing (usually a couple bucks or less) and we all know FedEx > UPS any day.

Yuck. 1/2 the time the UPS guy doesn't come by until past 6pm, sees the leasing office is closed and doesn't attempt to even deliver packages door to door.

Good thing I rarely buy anything from newegg.

UPS has always been less expensive for me and it takes less time, too. I don't think that the change is a big deal.

Here UPS comes by at around 9am, while Fedex comes at 1am. UPS is faster by a day, too. And they actually make sure you get the package, not like Fedex which once just dumped the thing on my doorstep.

That probably varies by region/driver/etc. I've never had Fedex leave a package (when I wasn't at home), but I have had UPS leave a $200 calculator outside in plain sight while I was at school once...

I've had packages shipped to me by both UPS and FedEx, there hasn't been a difference in the number of days it takes to arrive.

I've had shipments where the FedEx guy just plopped my box in front of the door and left without even waiting to see if I would come to the door.

Delivery time has never been a big difference for me either, for 3 day or better methods.

But FedEx ground (1-4 days, including Saturday for FedEx Home delivery) is almost always faster than UPS ground (1-7 days, no Saturdays without paying an extra $10-$15). I never ship anything UPS. It's always more expensive. Good for newegg if they're getting better rates.

Maybe he's an ex-DHL employee. That's what DHL does to all my packages, ninja-style delivery.

ups aint that bad, on the other hand i had bad experiences with fedex. today my package from newegg came all battered wet and tattered. i was like woah that was the worse job of shipping i ever seen. but anyways it really depends on your luck sometimes. luckily all my stuff was safe and it worked.

besides newegg opened warehouses in a few areas, it makes more sense to ship via ups ground to save money, this will help keep cost down which means lower prices for us!

UPS had an INCREDIBLE streak with me!!! Out of 8 orders they delivered 4 to the wrong place!!! Fedex has only shipped to the wrong place 1 time out of a bunch. I haven't had trouble with UPS lately (knock on wood, I have a package waiting for me ATM).

Hmmmm......seems that depending on where you live, depends on what sort of service you get from Fedex & UPS. Here in N. TX, I get about the same time period for shipping with both, but with the big difference that the Fedex guy knows how to place a package so it's not out in the open, saying, "STEAL ME!! STEAL ME!!!"

That, and for the life of me, I can't get the UPS drivers around here to knock or ring the bell when they drop something off at my front door. Not even when my truck is sitting in the driveway! Okay, maybe it's a small point, but how long really does it take to hit a doorbell button? Or knock on the door? I've had packages sitting outside for hours (luckily it's a covered porch), while I'm sitting in the house. That's simple customer service, and not something I should have to ask for, right?

i would have to say i've had about equal luck with both. though i prefer UPS since they have more dropoff locations.

i've shipped A LOT of stuff, and well i've lost 2 things.

UPS lost a brand new dell laptop , but i got a refund.

fedex lost a computer for well... 3 months. i didnt get crap, since it came back mostly intact (case was dented up) , but it had significantly devalued in the 3 months.

i dont really think this is too bad. if newegg saves money in shipping it could be possible we get slightly lower prices even.

Yep they tend to that, but I would still go with UPS or FED over DHL. DHL sucks big time since they always deliver one day late from the day it says on tracking and sometimes it even says it is on delivery track and they do not deliver. HATE DHL.

To me, Newegg has been going down hill recently. They are actually returning a DOA motherboard that a friend of mine ordered. He ordered it, tested it with three PSs, 2 CPUs, 4 sets of RAM, and 2 cases. Wouldn't post. Tried to send it back, refered to Manufacture, he denied that and wanted a return within 7 days of ordering, accepted the RMA. Then after they got it back, they sent it back to him, saying it wasn't the same board he ordered. (Case 1 of 4 for me recently)

I'm giving them some time off for a bit. ZZF, Monarch, eWiz, and ClubIT will be on my short list.

UPS is the only company that I have witnessed that will leave a package sitting instead of throwing it on a truck, just to get it delivered on the "said" date.

Another UPS supporter here.

UPS is very close to home, and delivers in my area 2 times a day (residential). I can get stuff in the morning and again right about time to get home. Definately a plus. Fed EX always leaves stuff on my door, where the UPS guys will put it inside my fence and leave me a note on my order tracking. So much better.

HAHA! I have the same problem as you, late or never.
UPS is stupid IMO. Their packages always come banged up or caved in. The handling on packages is just so poor compared to FedEx.
FedEx for me delivers 10am - 4pm and UPS is from 5pm - NEVER.
For 3 days they couldn't deliver my package so I had to go drive 30 min to pick up my own dang package.
And then to top it off if you want to ship by UPS or FedEx you will find UPS is a couple dollars more for worse service.
Overall FedEx > DHL >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>...UPS
