has anyone been able to cancel their monthly subscribtion???? I called their sales office, they gave me a number...I called that number, that number gave me a different number to call....(recording)...i called that number and IT IS ALWAYS BUSY. ALWAYS.

are they trying to screw us by not allowing us to cancel our monthy subscriptions???? WTF. If anyone has done this successfully, please post the phone # you called. Thanks
When I signed up for monthly, it was clear to me that I'd have to come back each month and pay. Why are you so worried? Even if you signed up for some sort of recurring charge arrangement and you can't get through to SonicBlue to cancel it, it should be trivial to do so by calling your credit card company.

Oh and my flame to tivo customer. With a replay using a ethernet connection you can go to Replay web remote. at this site you will be given a picture of a remote control which you can use to fully control all replay fuctions via the internet...I'd like to see your tivo do that! Yea it's kind of a lame idea but it's a great way to bug whoever is watching your replay, this only works on models with a ethernet port and it can only be accessed from the local network. to use it you'll need your replay's ip addess, you can get this info by pressing 411 then replay zones with your remote, you'll be give your replays system info and at the bottom of the screen you'll see your machine's ip address.[/quote]

TiVoWeb can easily be installed, where you get this and much more:

That will be up to whomever picks it up at auction, D&M looks like a frontrunner, though I'd like to see MS (and their deep pockets) throw their hat into the ring.

After UltimateTV, I seriously doubt that MS is willing to go into pvrs. For those with DISHPlayer pvr's, are they MS based? They were indentical to UTV at one time, but I haven't seen them in quite a while.

Just a reminder for those who recently bought the discounted Replays from Sonicblue (like my 4516 for $299) and used an American Express card, don't forget about the 90-day Return Protection Plan they offer. Here are the details:

Our exclusive Return Protection Service offers you guaranteed product satisfaction on designated items purchased entirely with an eligible American Express Card. This is particularly valuable when that new sofa doesn't sit so well in you living room. Or when you look in the closet and discover there's nothing that matches those new loafers.

If you try to return a designated item within 90 days from the date of purchase and the merchant won't take it back, American Express will reimburse you for the full purchase price, up to $300 per item and up to $1,000 annually per Cardmember Account. Simply call 1-800-297-8019 for additional questions or to initiate your request for a refund.

Within 30 days from the date of your initial call, we will need to receive the original store receipt, your American Express record of charge, and any other items deemed reasonable by us to process your request. Once your request is approved, you will be instructed to send the purchased item to us within 30 days. Please keep a record of your shipping statement, as you will need to provide proof of shipping and handling charges for the item. Please see additional limitations.

After UltimateTV, I seriously doubt that MS is willing to go into pvrs.

And yet, they're planning to with Xbox2.

MS never fully closes the door on a potentially profitable endeavour.
