As was speculated earlier in the day today, EBWorld is now listing the Sony Playstation 2 for $179.99. In somewhat of a surprise, they also list the Microsoft Xbox for $179.99. At this time there is no change in the price of the Nintendo GameCube.

From someone who owns both systems, I have to say that I literally haven't turned on my PS2 more than a few times since I got my Xbox. For the last six months, it hasn't even been hooked up.

Just checked Bestbuy and they changed their Xbox bundle price to $179.99 w/Sega GT and Jet set Radio.

I guess $20 is better then nothing.

Unfortunately for you, C, he has the right to openly voice his opinion, whether you like it or not. Just because it's at the top, doesn't change the fact that it's completely stupid to post this. If I were to make a post saying "NOT HOT: Mall still sells CDs for twenty dollars!!" It would be totally stupid. Alerting people that there is nothing to be alerted about is quite wasteful. To second that, EBGames.com has had the price of the XBox at 179.99 since before this post was made. So it was both outdated and uncessary before it was even posted. I think what thrashev and everyone else was getting at is that people think that this is an acceptable place to put things that really don't belong, just because they relate some way to hot deals, and I agree totally.

That's why it's a problem. If you say it's okay for one thing, why not another? Sooner or later, threads that REALLY ARE DEALS get pushed to where no one can see them because new stupid posts are made every second.

And you can stuff your "you aren't a mod so shut up" deal. Just because the mods have better things to do doesn't make it any less annoying to other people. You aren't mod, so why don't you shut your face and let us have our opinions, as we are entitled to.

And as a friend of Toddlizzle, I have to further clarify his statements by saying that he has roughly 30 Xbox games, at least 25 of which are still wrapped in plastic. Not exactly a glowing recommendation for the Xbox.

He didn't need to click the thread. The title described his message. It could've easily been skipped. Btw your examples are flawed in that there weren't rumors and hopes about the price dropping (which is of interest to hot dealers). And your girlfriend example is even further off base. If the title of this thread was deceptive and tricked me into clicking it then I could see a problem. This wasn't the case and this could easily be skipped. Talk about a backfire though. This thread would die much quicker if you guys weren't bumping it all the time. Me? I don't care either way. I can skip it if I don't care to read it. That's called common sense. Get some!

My objection wasn't to him voicing his opinion. It was to his own stupidity of clicking on a thread he didn't even want to visit AND bumping it. How do you people get through life?
