Noticed not much buzz about the new Windows phones being release here on the forums. Am I the only one who is looking forward to Samsungs new Focus line?

Most of the hype is about Nokias lineup since they tend to make superior hardware.
But yeah Samsung had a nice with with their awesome display, they should work hard to have one flagship WP7 device at a time and keep it simple.
Please God dont release 500 freaking phones a year!

It looks pretty awesome. The Focus Flash looks pretty nice too. It will be nice to see how the second gen Snapdragon improves battery life on WP7. I'm kind of disappointed with the pricing though. At&t just released a couple high-end phones for $99, but $199 for the Focus S . I was hoping for $149 or $99. I guess it depends how much memory it has. I can't seem to find anything about storage space.

Actually Nokia's phones were pretty underwhelming. I think the lack of interest in the Focus is just due to so few people being interested in WP7.

The WP forums got me excited about the HTC Titan. Large screen but supposedly 1-2 days battery life!

I had an Apple 3GS. Liked the phone until 4.1 made it crawl. Told after I sold it they fixed the bugs 4.1 brought to that phone.

I like how hard it is to break my Samsung Cappy so was hoping the newer Focus would continue with build quality but improve battery like they did with G II.

My sister was talking about getting an Iphone 4. Warned her about the glass on it will be more likely to break then her 3GS. She seems to enjoy dropping it! Took my phone out of its case dropped it from 4-5 feet in the air. Told her the Iphone would have likely broke.(only did this because getting a new phone in a few days either way) Still using my Samsung Cappy until Nov 6th ATT launch. I will either be getting a WP7 phone or the Samsung G II/Moto Atrix 2.

Really want to try WP7 more. Have an Asus transformer to get my Android play time in.

WP7 has always impressed me with the smoothness of the UI despite running on much older hardware (1st gen snapdragons or whatever; I'm talking about the older gen WP7 phones like Focus, Arrive, Quantum etc.). Had a Samsung Focus I was quite happy with, but had to switch out to a Blackberry for work emails. Looking to switch my personal Sprint line to a WP7 phone but they only have the older HTC Arrive and no announcements have been made about any next-gen WP7 phones for Sprint .

Microsoft is supposed to have some "WP7 Event" on Monday, Nov 7th so hopefully some Sprint announcements will be made there (Focus S for Sprint I hope!)

Dang, that's a nice phone! Between that and the Nokias and whatever else comes out, I'm seriously getting the upgrade itch(definitely staying with WP7 though). Love my Optimus 7, but a bigger screen with the same battery life would be fantastic!

I already have the original focus. It is plenty fast and with SD card has plenty of storage. I just don't see the need to upgrade to a new phone right now. When I become upgrade eligible it will be right after Apollo which is perfect timing. Now if the focus S manages to do something like double battery life over the original focus that would probably get me to upgrade early. That and come on this phone should not be 199.99 under contract. It should be 49.99 or 99.99 with contract.

I can see lack of buzz those with a decent WP7 have no reason to upgrade. Those who don't have WP7 won't jump in right now for several reasons. So good phones like the focus s will be qo un-noticed.

Android phones will be going through the same think next year I think. When the high end SOC phones with ICS become common as prices drop over next few months people will not feel the need to upgrade nearly as often. The biggest reason to upgrade IE a faster phone to run the UI smooth will be gone.

I have an original Focus and I love the phone, very happy that I had a 1.3 version for Mango too. I really like Nokia's phone, but it doesnt have a front facing camera and expandible storage. The Focus S looks more like their current flagship phone, im really looking forward to see if the camera is on par or better than the original focus and same with battery life.

I need something on Verizon to replace this Trophy. Haven't heard anything yet. Just want something with a FFC and better main camera, slightly bigger screen wouldn't hurt either. Come on MS, give us something!

I'll jump on the WP7 bandwagon as soon as Verizon gets something decent. I like the service but hate the phone selection.

Yeah I think they only have 1 windows phone at any given time.
AT&T has 4, and arguably the best ones also.

I am interested in the Focus Flash myself. I have had my fill of 4+" screens.

I haven't figured out why Verizon is so afraid of new phones. You'd think they would have learned their lesson after passing on the original iPhone but they seem to be as stubborn as ever.

Originally they wanted to suck on the Apple teat exclusively and that didnt happen. AT&T WAS exclusive and that ticked Verizon off.
Supposedly they wanted exclusivity to Microsoft and that obviously didnt happen either.
They arent afraid of new phones. They're afraid of losing control.

Thats why I like T-mobile, they dont try to manipulate and strangle their customers. All ya gotta do is swap the SIM and they dont give a damn if its from dumb phone to smart phone or whatever.
Of course, thats probably why they're the weakest of the 4.

Yeah, afraid was the wrong word. They need to realize that their inability to work with manufacturers isn't helping their market share but is helping their competitors. I wanted to switch to Verizon because their service is much better where I spend most of my time and actually exists where my parents live but I wasn't confident in their future WP7 handsets. I ended up sticking with T-Mobile despite the coverage concerns (I only use WiFi at my house because 3G is tough to come by).

Tmobiles 3G is utter crap. But I can get by. 2G is fine for automated email checking every 2 hours. Wifi is good for downloading and updating apps.
I stopped trying to stream movies a while ago. When 4G coverage is solid I will reconsider.
