Hidden deal - what a great way to do a backup. I've seen these but for $45 or so I was waiting - some hole-in-the-walls sell them for $29.99 + shipping, so it looks like a great deal to me.

If you go to the company's page it shows up as $45 but if you search for enclosure or if you get lucky and hit the homepage at the right time it does show up on the homepage but not much. Scroll down from this link about halfway. Some of you smarter folks might find a better link but after about ten minutes this is the best I could do.

Thanks!!! Been looking for one for a while, especially nice since it can take CD-Rom, DVD-Rom, etc as well...wish it could take 2.5 HD out of the box...but am getting it regardless!! Thanks again!!

My understanding is that USB implies "hot swappable" - am I missing something?

The pic I see is of the box that shows either, and it is marked USB. What are you refering to?

If you don't need the keyboard from New Egg, you can get it here for 25 + $3.95 shipping. I have two of them...one holds a 250GB HD that I use for backup, the other has my CD-R drive. They work great...stack nicely. I need them because I have a Dell 4550 with only 2 slots, currently occupied by a Sony DVD burner and a Audigy2 Live Drive.

Thanks for the idea. $1.04 after all is a breakfast at McDonalds, that you can also turn into Best Buy Bux. But, $28.95, savings of $1.04 and no free keyboard? Lordy, give the keyboard to a local church. Take much more lo-risk return and "issue" free experience with Newegg.
