Not really. in fact its read speed is pretty fast and writes are medium speed:

docinthebox, I was speaking of the 2GB FD SanDisk, based upon user reviews from the site. The site you listed shows the 128 - 512 ratings (not the 2GB as referenced here in the amazon.com link), and your test link shows no speed numbers just "Fast" "Medium." Also your referenced link was written in June, 2004 (almost two years ago). If I were to go with the SanDisk (the newer ones) I'd go with the 1GB for now.

Why not spend the extra bucks and get a Corsair Flash Voyager USB 2.0 1G PLUG AND PLAY with 19MBps Read Sustained USB 2.0 13MBps Write Sustained ($69.99 @ buy.com or $61.xx + tax + shipping, around $65.00 w/$15 rebate at mwave)? Many times a deal is great but for a little more, quality improvement comes into the picture. For $50 bux I'd be happy with quality and speed (not to say SanDisk is junk; it most certainly is not).

sandisk is ridiculously slow, i bought the micro 1gb and when it comes to small files it was slower than my old 64meg no name drive. Even with larger files it didn't top 1MB a second.

Here is a review on the 512MB version of the corsair drive, not sure if that applies to the 1gb, but the results for the 512mb are pretty good.

Strange. My 1GB Sandisk Micro reads at 16 Mb/sec and writes at 7MB/sec for large files and 3 to 4 MB/sec for small files.
