well im 33 years old yesterday, holloween and i find myself in the same sad dilemma i was in the last few elections , be it local state or federal.
im not voting.
why ?
simply put. these guys and groups who run our country have made me feel like there is no hope.
no matter who wins or loses we as the american middle class are the losers. they is no one anywhere in the american political system who will EVER make it easy for us, or make it be such a way that i will stand up and be proud to be an american.
i live in cedar rapids, ia, where john kerry and george bush have been having their stupid speeches and rallies every 2 weeks for the last few months. and frankly what for ? so we as the middle class and farmers and anyone making little to no money can sit back and watch them get elected and watch as yet another political candidate spews nothing but lie after lie from hie vile gut. ?
1 1/2 years ago i met a really great woman from toronto who invited me to move to canada, and we discussed alot of what would be involved and in the end because of family issues and moving away from my 12 yr old son, i decided not to.
but we sat for hours talking several times of the good and bad things of our respective countries and ill be real honest with you ladies and gentlemen, canada seems like a very good place to live and prosper.
i was explaining things such as pay, cost of living, insurance, and other things and she couldnt believe the bullshit that americans deal with. the great country of america who does nothing but ignore its own people while it spends billion of dollars overseas helping everyone else. and for what reason ? political reasons, not reasons that help out us, the american people, infact its the oposite, the spendin in the last 50 years by the american government overseas has been so much that if they had put that money, that food, that aide towards its own citizens i truly believe there wouldnt be homelessness here in america. there would nt be starving children in our streets, and at schools, i believe i would be proud to be an american. i believe there could be a good system of government driven insurance like every other country in the world.
but it isnt that way, and frankly if you want to hurl stones at me for this go ahead, but let he who is without sin,,, yada yada yada,,,
i am not proud to be an american,, the meaning of the phrase "I am an American" lost its stature decades ago, ,and now your better off NOT telling people that if your overseas. we are a dirty evil people becuase of the politicians that have been elected into office. and we as the american public are nothing more than worker ants for the american political machine. and im tired of it. im tired of waking up everyday wondering if i will be able to eat today or if i will lose my electricity. im tired of selling my pc parts to pay ever increasing prices of the cost of living.
i dont think i ever will vote until i see a candidate stand up on tv, or in a town rally, or in front of my very own eyes, and say
"i will take care of my citizens, my tired my poor, my huddled masses yearning to be free"
"you mr arab, mr, chinese mr african people european people, your troubles are your own troubls now, we want nothing to do with your troubles, i am here to take care of the american people, the children who go to school hungry or with shoes that the soles are almost gone, you the parent who is working 3 jobs to support your kids, you the unemployed who have been looking for work for months and months with nothing insite(thats me), you the rural and city people, man woman and child who have no insurance, who cant get their teeth fixed, who cant go to the dr when they are sick or when their is something wrong,
its you people that i am here to take care of,screw the rest of the world, its time america worry about america and make america a place to be proud to be!"
until i hear someone say that ,,, i dont think there will ever be a reason for me to vote.
and dont ever get me started on how other f#$% countries treat us, us who have pumped billions of dollars into their governments and economies, who have given and given while us the american people suffer, and yet those countries have the audacity to try and call us american pigs ? yeah dont ever get me started on that.
