Not at all. The SGS3 for instance is actually very solid landing face up or face down and likely won't suffer so much as a scratch. On the sides though, from the smallest height, and even dropped on soft surfaces, it's fragile as an eggshell. The front glass will shatter very easily from a side hit unfortunately.But isn't it reasonable to assume that if the phone(and the screen) survives landing face down and also face up(in case the fat bezels protect the screen when it lands face down in the prior test), then it's very likely it will survive if it lands vertically or hits the pavement on one side of it's 4 edges?
So personally, I'd rather see how the Note 2 fares landing on its sides, since that's very clearly the weak-point of the SGS3.
