Note 3 vs Note 4 PPI

Can anyone tell a difference between the two?

Yes - but only on small text, generally on non-mobi optimized websites.

However, there are other improvements beyond ppi which are worthwhile - brightness, color accuracy, power use.

the outdoor brightness, especially when that crazy brightness boost kicks in, is much better than my note 3

day-to-day activities are harder to tell the two apart. my note 4 gets more screen-on-time than note 3

I notice when playing Blu Ray content that the Note 4 has the nicer screen.

It is sorta like going from 4xAA to 8xAA. I could not tell pixels apart but things became more comfortable and "rounder" to look at.

Better display of HD content, text, especially smaller, looks much better, the external light boost is great. Overall just much better. I have both BTW.

i wasn't sure how to describe it but you nailed it. alternating between my 1080p tablet to my note 4 its not too different. (unlike my previous s3 (720p) to note 4. that was night and day)

Heck, I took my Note 2 into Verizon a couple of weeks ago to compare it to the Note 4 and I can just barely tell a difference. That's about the time I decided to wait on the Note 5.

I've had the Note 2, 3, and 4 and the jump from the Note 2 is pretty dramatic. White balance and brightness improvements are immediately visible - the Note 2 was barely viewable in sunlight.

I also do remember comparing the Note 2 screen to the S4 when it came out and was able to easily notice the difference in text. I can understand not seeing much difference from the Note 3 to the Note 4, but not the Note 2. The screen improvement alone made the Note 3 far better to me than the Note 2.
