Would it be worth while going from a S5 to a Note 4? I'm thinking about jumping ship to TMO from ATT and trading my device in with ETF fees removed.
I saw it yesterday also, and I agree, it's in a league of it's own. I don't feel that the loss of usb3 is a big deal. I haven't hooked up a phone to my pc for file transfers in years. I use wifi, and since it supports 802.11ac, it will be plenty fast. The Note 4 has fast charging, and that's the important thing, IMO.Checked out the Note 4 at BestBuy yesterday.
And here I thought the Note 3 was pretty much my perfect smartphone, but the Note 4 just seems to make almost every slight little improvement I could have hoped for. N3 is plenty sturdy, but the N4 feels just so solid. I love that my least favorite thing is gone; that stupid chrome band around the sides. I wish they'd do away with chrome entirely, but there's still a useless thin strip of it. Still, it's way better than the N3's full band.
Screen is incredible. Side by side with my Note 3 the difference isn't glaring, but just enough to see a difference.
I'm a little pissed at the loss of the USB3 port- was so nice charging/transferring super-fast with that, but no biggie.
Just playing around with the camera, I actually liked the gimmicky stuff most, like selective focus. That'll probably be fun to use.
The buttons do feel so much sturdier, not that I've ever had a problem with my N3's buttons.
I can't wait to upgrade! At this point, there's nothing else for me that's even in the same league as the Note4.
Those of you who have had chance to get some hands on did you notice any gapping between the screen and the surround?
I thought you had to trade it in to Verizon (or whoever you bought the N4 from) to get the rebate?
Cool.I saw no gap on the one I played with, and I was looking for it.
We shall see.Gapgate???
Yup, you're right. The more I think about it, the more I realize it doesn't matter. I'll probably just give all my USB3 cables for my N3 away with it when I sell it. And the smaller standard connector just makes the device look that much better.I haven't hooked up a phone to my pc for file transfers in years. I use wifi, and since it supports 802.11ac, it will be plenty fast. The Note 4 has fast charging, and that's the important thing, IMO.
On this trade in offer I'm trying to figure this part out:
"Trade in any working smartphone at a participating retailer (minimum $10 trade in value)."
What do they mean by participating retailer? A retailer that does trade-ins? Or a retailer that is participating in this program? But there is no mention of who a participating retailer is. I'm sure Verizon is participating, and that's great for one of the phones I'm trading in, but I have another phone they don't want to offer $10, but Amazon does. Not sure if Amazon is considered "participating."
A Participant who chooses to submit his/her receipts online must first print his/her name on the original register receipt, sign and date the receipt, and then follow the on-screen prompts to upload a photograph of the original register receipts showing both the trade-in value and device pre-order, respectively. You must circle the trade-in credit and device pre-order on the original receipts.
Lots of small print in this offer. I saw this
It says "register" twice. I preodered online and was planning to trade in my device through Verizon online. There won't be actual "register" receipts for that.
That's why i'm trading in via bestbuy. They apply the $200 towards the cost of the phone and you don't have to deal with the paper work for samsung.
